Nonprofit Relocates San Francisco Offices to Civic Center


Avison Young negotiated a 91-month, 19,350-square-foot office lease on behalf of Larkin Street Youth Services, which is relocating from 711 Van Ness. The new space is within the Lighthouse Building at 1155 Market St. in downtown San Francisco’s Civic Center.

Principal Mark McGranahan and transaction manager Melinda Ta represented the tenant. The landlord, CWCapital Asset Management LLC, was represented by Kidder Mathews.

The 11-story, Class A office building features onsite parking, 24/7 on-site security, bike storage and open patios, The Civic Center BART station is in front of the property.

“Our Avison Young team evaluated the tenant’s current space utilization and identified locations that could improve employee commute patterns,” said McGranahan. “We then developed three solutions and negotiated to achieve the best possible lease terms.”

Founded in 1984, Larkin Street Youth Services is a San Francisco-based nonprofit dedicated to helping young people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
