Proof School Relocates to San Francisco’s South Financial District

Columbia Property Trust, Inc. signed four new leases, highlighted by a 34,528-square-foot relocation with Proof School, at 221 Main St., its 16-story Class A office tower in San Francisco’s South Financial District. Proof School, currently located at 973 Mission St., signed a 15-year lease to more than double its current 16,500-square-foot footprint.

“As a cutting-edge institution committed to preparing San Francisco’s future leaders, Proof School was drawn to 221 Main for the opportunity to create a bespoke envelope of space in a prime location,” said Ted Koltis, Columbia’s EVP and head of real estate. “We look forward to welcoming their impressive students and faculty to 221 Main.”

In addition, the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) signed an eight-year lease for 3,737 square feet on the fifth floor. NVCA will relocate from its current San Francisco offices at 214 Grant Avenue in January. Columbia has also secured two additional new leases totaling approximately 10,700 square feet – both relocations within the San Francisco market.

Columbia was represented on all transactions in-house by Koltis and VP real estate Scott Mullen, along with a JLL team of Wesley Powell, Steven A. Anderson and Lexi Castellino. Newmark’s Christina Clark and Aaron Gillespie represented Proof School. CBRE’s Blake Walker and Caroline O’Loughlin Livermore represented NVCA.
