Partner Roee Kaufman at the 61st Annual Hawaii Tax Institute Conference

Partner Roee Kaufman delivered two insightful presentations at the 61^st Annual Hawaii Tax Institute:

“What’s a Trustee to Do: When the Interests of Beneficiaries and Settlors Collide,” alongside David Warren and Hon. Judge Lesley Green (ret.). This session examined the challenges settlors face in maintaining the privacy of their wealth transfer strategies, with a focus on the rights of contingent beneficiaries to information concerning trust administration and trust accountings while the settlor is alive but not acting as trustee, and steps that can be implemented at the estate planning phase to address those challenges.
“A View From the Driver’s Seat,” with Anne Gifford Ewing and Jeffay Chang. This session covers the perspective of corporate trustees on wealth transfer planning documentation and strategies, addressing the rationale behind requested provisions, challenges with specific asset types, considerations for Wealth Transfer Advisors when drafting trusts, and the practical implications of effective wealth transfer strategies in real-life administration.

Roee and Managing Partner Shawn Kerendian represented the firm at this premier tax and wealth transfer event, which attracts professionals from around the globe.

The firm also hosted their second annual nightcap event, attended by over 70 guests, with stunning views of Waikiki beach from the Presidential Suite.
