Kirk Helgeson has been named president of American Realty Advisors, succeeding Scott Darling. Helgeson will continue to serve as the firm’s CIO, chairman of its investment committee and leader of the firm’s value-added real estate strategy.
The move comes as part of the firm’s long-term succession planning and as recognition of Helgeson’s longtime contribution to Los Angeles-based ARA’s leadership, direction, and strength. Stanley Iezman, ARA chairman and CEO, said he’s proud to recognize the important influence Helgeson has on firm operations, as well as on its investment direction.

“Kirk is a critical member of our team – he’s been with us for nearly 25 years and is deeply embedded in our operations,” he said. “His experience, relationships, and industry knowledge are invaluable both to our firm and to our investors.”
Darling will continue to focus his efforts on the Core Fund as the co-portfolio manager alongside Martha Shelley. He will continue to serve on the firm’s leadership and investment committees.
