At Connect Apartments 2026 in Los Angeles, Connect CRE asked industry leaders where they’re seeing trends, opportunities or challenges in the Western multifamily market. While not downplaying the challenges that have arisen in an uncertain financing environment, these experts highlighted the opportunities that result from paying attention to fundamental operating principles and having a strong team in place.
“We see a tremendous opportunity in this next three or four years as assets come to market at reasonable prices, even attractive prices,” said Ethan Penner, chairman of Hill Street Realty, who was interviewed by Connect Media president and CEO Daniel Ceniceros at the outset of the in-person industry event. “Fortunes are typically made in this time, and we hope to be one of the beneficiaries.”
