Former James Van Der Beek Home Available for Rent

James Van Der Beek’s former Beverly Hills home is back on the rental market, this time with a higher price tag following the “Dawson’s Creek” star’s death in February.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom Spanish-style house at 333 South Roxbury Drive is available for $13,950 per month, up from its $11,000 monthly asking rent in 2021, Realtor.com reported. Van Der Beek and his wife Kimberly never purchased the property, instead leasing the home before relocating to Texas in 2020. The residence is owned by a trust tied to billionaire real estate investors and former Los Angeles Clippers owners Donald and Rochelle Sterling.

The roughly 3,100-square-foot home gained attention after Architectural Digest featured the couple’s extensive redesign just before the pandemic. Working with designer Tammy Price, the family filled the home with movable furnishings fit for a household of six children and frequent guests. Van Der Beek built a custom wooden daybed that became one of the home’s signature pieces.

The property still reflects much of that makeover, with exposed-beam vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, French doors opening to the backyard, multiple balconies and a pool. A detached poolhouse offers additional storage or potential office space, while the primary suite includes a soaking tub, green-tiled shower and walk-in closet.

“We never really had the time to focus on designing the house properly before. We just kept having kids and working,” Van Der Beek told Architectural Digest.

The listing is held by Vision Realty’s Terri Scheid and is already seeing strong early interest and  high demand, according to Realtor.com.

Van Der Beek and his family left California in 2020 for a 36-acre ranch in Spicewood, Texas, near Austin. The family initially leased their Lone Star State home before buying the property through an LLC in January for nearly $4.8 million, just weeks before the actor died following a battle with cancer. The ranch boasts a more than 5,100-square-foot main house, cabins, a pool and Pedernales River frontage.
