East Coast to Invest .5M in Baytown Warehouse Facility

East Coast Warehouse & Distribution Corp. has leased a 321,440-square-foot warehouse at 9200 FM 1405 in the Baytown 146 industrial development and plans to start operating out of it in May. KBC Advisors, represented the landlord, Velocis, in the lease negotiations. Cushman & Wakefield represented East Coast.

Commercial Edge reports East Coast plans to invest $42.5 million in its new facility and create 65 new jobs. It will be used for public warehousing solutions and will also serve as a base for the company’s Safeway Trucking Corp. operation.

East Coast will occupy Building 1 in Velocis’ two-building development. Velocis broke ground on the 749,520-square-foot project in August 2024, a month after acquiring the 49-acre piece of land.

The 428,080-square-foot Building 2 is still available and can be divided into 100,000-square-foot parts. Both have 2,500 square feet of office space.

It’s just down the road from Cedar Port Industrial Park, the largest rail-served industrial development in the country.
