Climate Tech Execs Launch Sustainable Real Estate Investment Firm

Three former executives of the climate-friendly technology company Green Canopy NODE, Aaron Fairchild, Andy Wolverton, and Susan Fairchild, have launched Cambia Capital, a real estate investment firm focused on investing in resilient and sustainable real estate projects.

At Green Canopy, the trio helped build a sustainable real estate development and construction technology company, raised and managed over $100 million in corporate and project-related debt and equity, and developed and capitalized four real estate investment funds.

Cambia Capital is starting with a $20 million investment for the company’s Douglas Fir Fund, and the group will deploy capital into sustainable real estate projects built beyond code, focusing on mass timber, net-zero energy, and third-party certified green-built projects.

The creation of Cambia Capital comes as Seattle recently signed new building emissions into law and as the state of Washington approved regulations mandating performance standards for new residential and commercial construction.
