Soccer legend David Beckham has revealed how he is passing his time ahead of the 2026 World Cup—sharing a video of himself tending to the wildlife and flowers at his enormous English countryside estate, just days before the international tournament is due to kick off.

The 51-year-old, who represented England in three FIFA World Cups during his own playing career before retiring in 2013, took to Instagram to offer a glimpse inside his routine at the sprawling property he shares with his wife, Victoria Beckham, and their children.

In the post, Beckham began by sharing a video of himself crawling inside his chicken coop, grinning from ear to ear as he collected the eggs that had been laid by his pets.

A second clip featured the Inter Miami CF owner proudly showing off a collection of potted plants that have been lined up outside of his greenhouse, before heading inside the structure to proudly reveal a look at his new rose bushes, which were sitting in pots, ready to be planted.

Bending down next to the plants, he then smelled one of the flowers, before beaming at the camera and panning it quickly to capture his dog.

A final selfie shared in the carousel showed him posing proudly next to his new garden additions.

Though the former athlete could be seen speaking in both of the clips, he couldn’t actually be heard, because he added a song track to all of the images and videos: Justin Bieber‘s hit song, “Speed Demon,” which features some apt lyrics about chickens, which Beckham appropriated for his caption.

“Checkin My Chickens,” he wrote, while adding a chicken and rose emoji.

However, the chickens and roses were not the only exciting update to the Beckhams’ estate, which is located in the Cotswolds and was purchased by the couple for around $8 million in 2016, although more recent estimates put the value of the property at around $16 million.

In a separate post on his Instagram Stories, Beckham revealed that the family also recently welcomed new “members” in the form of some black moorhens.

The Beckhams’ expansive estate will offer a stunning place for the moorhens to roam around, having been made up of three historic farmhouses that they combined to create their enormous countryside compound.

The family home offers a peaceful getaway from the flashing lights of their celebrity lifestyle and features a private lake, a football pitch, gardens, and plenty of lush greenery in the backyard.

This home was also featured prominently in their wildly popular Netflix documentary, “Beckham.”

However, the soccer pro didn’t have much time to spend with the newest additions to his brood, revealing in a later post that he attended an event in New York City shortly after sharing his estate update.

He will head to Los Angeles next, where he is due to receive a star on the storied Hollywood Walk of Fame, before he throws himself into the action at the FIFA World Cup, which starts on June 11 and will feature games hosted across 16 cities in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.

Beckham and his wife have spent the past few years splitting their time between the U.K. and the U.S., having purchased a collection of incredible homes in both countries over the years.

The couple’s main residence is a grand Victorian townhouse in the prestigious Holland Park neighborhood of West London.

The couple purchased the sprawling property in 2013, paying around $37.9 million for the property before pouring an estimated $10 million into renovations.

The property now comes complete with several bedrooms, a spa-worthy gym, a resort-style indoor pool, a wine cellar, a fashion runway space, and bespoke family lounging areas.

However, they also own a very large property in Miami—having laid down roots in the Sunshine State for the first time back in 2020, the same year that David’s soccer team, Inter Miami, made its debut in the MLS.

At the time, they purchased a full-floor penthouse in the Zaha Hadid-designed One Thousand Museum tower.

The home, which is understood to have cost an eye-watering $280 million to build, has been described as “one of the most complex skyscrapers to ever make it off the drawing board.”

The lavish, full-floor condo was procured through Beckham Brand Limited, the partnership and licensing company owned by the soccer star.

The property sprawls across over 10,000 square feet and boasts multiple terraces, an indoor pool, luxury finishes and panoramic views of the city’s skyline.

In 2024, the Beckhams tightened their grip on their real estate holdings in Miami by snapping up a newly built $80 million megamansion in Miami Beach.

The former soccer star turned MLS owner and his fashion designer wife made a play for an imposing waterfront property, which is just a 40-minute drive from the stadium where David’s team currently plays.

According to The Real Deal, David and Victoria purchased the nine-bedroom, 9.5-bathroom home, which is now pending sale, according to Realtor.com® records.

Described in its listing as being one of “Miami Beach’s most significant estates,” the expansive property boasts 14,270 square feet of living space and 124 feet of private waterfront space, including a dock.

Inside the home, there are amenities aplenty, from a gym and spa to a chef’s kitchen and a home movie theater. Plus, the “sophisticated, layered, and rich” interior and exterior designs were masterminded by architect Choeff Levy Fischman in collaboration with Antrobus Design Collective and luxury homebuilder Bart Reines.

Should the Beckhams find themselves in need of a beach alternative, the home also comes complete with a stunning private pool surrounded by lush, landscaped gardens and a large, outdoor entertaining area.

Twelve-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows ensure that the home is flooded with natural light at all times, while tall palm trees on either side of the gardens allow for maximum privacy—no doubt a must-have for such a starry couple.

In addition, there is also a sizable rooftop area, where the Beckhams will be able to enjoy panoramic ocean and city views. On a clear day, David might even be able to watch his team in action from the luxury of his own home.

The property has been sitting on the market since November 2022, according to records, and was last sold in 2018 for the relatively low price of $10 million.

According to The Real Deal, the home’s previous owner was property developer Niklas de la Motte, who completely transformed the home before putting it back on the market—with an impressive price increase.

“Superman” star Nicholas Hoult has finally offloaded his longtime Los Angeles abode after the midcentury modern dwelling spent more than a year on the market.

But it is not all good news for the 36-year-old Brit, who was forced to take a rather hefty loss on the sale of the Hollywood Hills home, which he purchased for $2.33 million in 2018, according to property records, seven years before putting it back on the market for the much higher price of $2.95 million.

After listing the home in February 2025, Hoult—who is next due to appear in the upcoming comedy action movie “How to Rob a Bank”—faced an agonizing wait for a buyer, steadily decreasing his asking price over the course of 13 months, eventually dropping it to $2.4 million in March.

Now, property records show that the sale of the home has officially closed with a final price of $2.2 million—an even lower sum than Hoult paid for the home more than eight years ago.

The dwelling was one of two California homes owned by the actor, who is also understood to have a primary residence in London, and records show that he still owns his other Golden State abode: a picturesque five-bedroom beach house in the Long Beach neighborhood of Naples, which he bought for $2.6 million in 2022.

His traditional Cape Cod-style beach abode is a world away from the much funkier design of his midcentury modern dwelling in the upscale Outpost Estate community; when Hoult listed the dwelling, it was described as offering “the essence” of the classic architectural style, while also boasting plenty of “modern comfort.”

Perched on a hillside parcel that offers “sparkling views,” the property is surrounded by trees, which help to give it a true sense of privacy—a must for any celebrity homeowners.

In keeping with the hallmarks of midcentury modern design, the property emphasizes “seamless indoor-outdoor living,” beginning with the stunning living room, which sits at the very center of the property and features “a dramatic butterfly roofline,” as well as glass walls that perfectly highlight the spectacular L.A. views.

“The open design creates an effortless flow for both daily living and entertaining,” the listing noted. “Distinctive and memorable, this architectural retreat offers a rare opportunity to experience the tranquility of the Hollywood Hills while remaining moments from the energy of the city.”

There is also an open-plan dining space in the main living area, while a connecting balcony offers another seating area, where guests can enjoy the home’s stunning vistas.

Elsewhere on the main level, there is a “thoughtfully remodeled” kitchen with an array of high-end appliances, as well as a large breakfast bar that offers the ideal place for casual dining.

Though Hoult did not comment on his reasons for selling his Hollywood Hills home, he has previously admitted that he spends a good amount of time in the kitchen when he’s not working, revealing that one of his favorite things to do at home is cook.

“I do quite enjoy cooking when I’m not working,” he told People magazine in 2022. “When I’m working, I just don’t cook at all basically, and then when I get time off I like to putter around in the kitchen. I’m not very good, but I like to do it.”

All three of the home’s bedrooms are found on the lower level, which is accessed via a “sculptural floating staircase,” including the spacious primary suite, as well as two “oversized” guest accommodations.

The main bedroom offers a clean, contemporary aesthetic, with large glass doors that open to another terrace space, with its own private seating area—and steps that lead down to the main yard and pool space.

Because of the home’s hillside perch, the garden feels very much like a private, secret space, one that is surrounded by lush foliage that creates a natural wall around the outdoor area.

It’s thought that the dwelling initially served as Hoult’s primary California base—and he purchased it just a few weeks before welcoming his first child with wife Bryana Holly. The couple welcomed a second child in 2022 but have never disclosed the gender or name.

Following the 2026 Oscars, the internet was ablaze with rumors that the duo may have secretly welcomed a third child, after the designer of Holly’s dress for the Vanity Fair afterparty shared a comment on Instagram in which she hinted that the model had recently given birth to another child.

The comment was made in response to a snarky Instagram user who accused Holly of undergoing plastic surgery, claiming that her “surgeon did an amazing job.” In response, designer brand Lurelly posted: “If by surgeon you mean her new born baby. I can’t wait for a world where we root for each other rather than assume.”

Hoult and Holly did not ever publicly comment on the speculation.

The famously private couple is still understood to be based in the greater Los Angeles area, with the actor telling ID magazine in April 2025 that they were still residing in California with their two kids.

Hoult moved to Los Angeles after his international movie career began to take off; he initially made his mark on the film and TV industries while living in the U.K., where he appeared in a series of local TV shows, before securing his first starring role in the movie “About a Boy,” alongside Hugh Grant.

He continued to live in the U.K., where he attended high school, before landing the role of Tony in the hit British TV show “Skins.” His first major movie role in the U.S. came in 2009, when he starred in designer Tom Ford‘s first major big-screen project “A Single Man.”

Oscar-winning actress Geena Davis has opened up about the hilarious childhood pastime that left the residents of her quiet Massachusetts hometown so alarmed that they would regularly phone her mother to report her wild antics.

The “Thelma & Louise” star reflected on her humble upbringing in Wareham in a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, recalling how she often entertained herself by acting out elaborate scenarios while riding around her neighborhood on her bike.

According to Davis, her imagination frequently got so intense that nearby residents became genuinely concerned—largely because the “roles” she would play required her to yell and scream.

“On my bike, away from social constraints, I often pretended to be in a battle, yelling at my troops, or I sang at the top of my lungs,” she explained. “I assumed no one would hear me, but, of course, they did—and called my mother.”

The actress—who now resides in a stunning Spanish-style residence in Los Angeles—went on to describe her very humble childhood home and how it served as the backdrop for the earliest days of her acting dreams.

“My family lived in a two-story brown-shingled house in Wareham,” she recalled. “A wood stove heated our home, and we had kerosene lanterns at the ready in case of a power outage.”

Davis admitted that even from a young age, she dreamed of one day becoming a Hollywood actress—often immersing herself in television and imagining a life far bigger than the one she knew in suburban Massachusetts.

“At home, the TV was often on,” she said. “My parents said I was 3 when I first told them I’d be an actor. I think I saw acting as a way to be somebody who didn’t have to blend in.”

She added: “Sometimes I wore sunglasses while watching TV because actors wore them.”

The future Hollywood star also recalled spending much of her childhood with her best friend, Lucyann, who conveniently lived just across the street.

“My best friend, Lucyann, lived across the street, and was a year younger,” Davis shared. “During sleepovers, her mom, Lucia, let us watch ‘The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.’ Lucia said, ‘Geena, if you’re ever on that show, you’ll know you’ve made it.’”

As it turns out, Davis would do just that—appearing on Johnny Carson‘s beloved late-night talk show for the first time in 1987, just a few months before she starred in “Beetlejuice.”

But during her childhood, the idea of reaching such dizzying heights was restricted to Davis’ imagination, which she allowed to run rampant by staging homemade productions with Lucyann, many of which were inspired by their favorite TV programs.

“Lucyann and I put on lots of silly plays, many based on TV shows,” Davis said.

Even while sick at home as a child, Davis found herself studying actors and practicing techniques that would later help shape her career.

“When I was 10, I was home with the flu for a week and noticed that TV soap-opera actors often raised one eyebrow at the end of a scene,” she revealed. “I taught myself how to do it.”

Although Davis enjoyed many aspects of her suburban upbringing, she admitted she often felt different from her peers and longed for a fresh start.

That opportunity arrived during her junior year of high school when her school introduced a foreign exchange program.

“My hand shot up,” she recalled. “I went off to a home in Sandviken, a small Swedish town, for my senior year. I was excited to go where nobody thought I was a weirdo.”

While living abroad, Davis attended high school in Sweden and even found herself swept up in a teenage romance.

“I had the cutest boyfriend,” she said. “His family sort of adopted me.”

However, spending her senior year overseas meant missing the audition for Boston University’s acting program.

Instead, Davis initially attended New England College before later transferring to Boston University after her freshman year.

Just two years later, she filmed her very first audition tape—a move that would ultimately launch her Hollywood career.

“Soon after I arrived, my agency called,” Davis recalled. “I got the part. The movie was ‘Tootsie.’”
The actress also revealed that producers became interested in her after seeing modeling photos from a Victoria’s Secret catalog.

“They liked my audition tape but asked about my bathing-suit photo,” she explained. “I was still in Paris, so my agency sent over photos of me from a Victoria’s Secret catalog, and I was cast.”

Today, Davis’ life looks dramatically different from the quiet suburban childhood she once knew.

“Today, I live in a Spanish-style house near Los Angeles that has a beautiful yard,” she said. “Home is elusive, since work keeps me busy traveling.”

Still, despite the glamorous lifestyle and decades-long Hollywood career, Davis says her favorite spot in the house remains surprisingly cozy and personal.

“My giant L-shaped pink-velvet couch that once belonged to Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne,” she said when asked about her favorite place at home. “I bought it at a vintage store in L.A.”

Actress Aubrey Plaza has relisted her Spanish-style California compound with a steep $1.2 million discount—just two months after an offer on the home fell through.

Plaza, 41, originally listed the picturesque Los Feliz abode for $6.5 million in September, eight months after her husband, film director Jeff Baena, died by suicide inside the property.

Now, the “Dirty Grandpa” actress—who announced in April that she is expecting her first child with partner Chris Abbott—is changing up her tactics for finding a buyer, choosing to relist the property with a new agent, Carl Gambino of the Gambino Group at Compass.

While Gambino was not available to comment on the home’s return to the market, the property’s previous listing agent, Bryce Pennel of the Pennel Group at Douglas Elliman, explained to Realtor.com® that the dwelling had come under offer on several occasions, but each of those offers ultimately ended up falling through before a deal could close.

He further noted that the sensitive nature of the home’s tie to Baena’s death made the marketing of it much more complicated than a “typical sale.”

“From the start, this was not a typical sale,” Pennel explained. “There was a lot tied to the property emotionally, which required discretion, care, and a thoughtful approach throughout. Despite the complexity and public attention surrounding it, there was consistent and meaningful buyer interest because at its core, it’s an incredibly special property.

“The multiple cancelled escrows were more reflective of the unique circumstances surrounding the home than a lack of demand. Ultimately, when the final buyer chose not to move forward, ownership decided to reposition with a meaningful price reduction and relist with a different agent.”

Though he is no longer working to sell the home, Pennel had nothing but positive praise for Plaza, adding: “I am grateful to have helped guide the property through an important chapter and appreciative of everyone involved along the way.”

In March, Realtor.com exclusively revealed that Plaza had secured a buyer for the residence. However, by May 12, the deal had fallen through and the home was once again pulled from the market.

Now, the sprawling Los Feliz compound has officially returned to the market for $5.29 million, marking a $1.21 million discount from its original asking price.

Plaza and Baena—a writer and director—purchased their home together in October 2022, paying $4.7 million for the Los Feliz property.

Records show that the property was purchased via a trust managed by an accounting firm located in the same office as Plaza’s production company, Evil Hag Productions.

The Mediterranean-style dwelling, which features four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, was built in 1928 and appears to have been purchased off market, according to Realtor.com data.

Before it was purchased by the couple in 2022, the home last changed hands in 2017 for $3.6 million.

In its latest listing, the Spanish-style home is described as being “tucked away on a private street” in the “coveted” neighborhood of Los Feliz Oaks.

“Meticulously restored and tastefully updated, the home honors its architectural heritage while offering modern amenities including a screening room, wine cellar, pool, oversized steam room, and a state-of-the-art sound system,” the description continues.

“This is more than a home … it’s a private sanctuary, brought back to life with care, style, and enduring character. A rare opportunity for those seeking space, seclusion, and authentic Spanish charm.”

Listing images reveal an incredibly tasteful interior, with a neutral, elegant palette used throughout the home, which is filled with natural light.

The bright and airy kitchen features large glass doors to the backyard, helping to create a seamless flow between the two spaces.

However, there are several pops of color throughout the abode, including a large pink couch in one of the living areas, as well as funky yellow-and-green tile in a bathroom.

Pink appears to have been a favorite hue for Plaza, with the primary bathroom painted in a very pale rose, while the primary bathroom also features fun lighting fixtures in a similar color.

The home also offers many amenities outside of the main residence, including multiple outdoor living spaces “designed for dining, lounging, and entertaining,” as well as a stunning swimming pool that is nestled on a grassy lawn, with a canopy of trees providing natural shade for the hottest of days.

In one of the living spaces, an artistic arched window helps to emphasize the beauty of the home’s surroundings, providing a picturesque view of the property’s gardens—serving almost as a natural art piece in the space, which also boasts a cozy fireplace.

Arches run throughout the dwelling, from the curved front door to the arched doorways that lead from one room into the next in many of the main living areas.

Plaza and Baena purchased the home just over one year after they revealed they had secretly tied the knot, with the actress sharing the news in a May 2021 Instagram post in which she referred to her partner as her “darling husband.”

The couple, who had been dating since 2011, kept their relationship largely out of the spotlight; however, Plaza did previously note that their shared love of the movie industry had been a great boon to their romance.

“I think that when you’re with someone that is in your field, they understand what you’re dealing with on a deeper level,” she told People in 2019. “So obviously you are able to support each other and really understand kind of the journey that we’re both on.”

Baena was pronounced dead on Jan. 3, 2025, inside the Los Feliz property he shared with Plaza, with the Los Angeles County Coroner later confirming the cause of death as suicide.

Plaza later broke her silence about her struggle to deal with her grief, telling fellow comedian Amy Poehler that her devastation felt like a “giant ocean of awfulness.”

During an appearance on Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast in August of that same year, the “Honey Don’t!” star explained that, while she was doing her best to cope with each day as it came, processing the loss of her husband was a “daily struggle.”

“Overall, I’m here and I’m functioning. I feel really grateful to be moving through the world. I think I’m OK, but it’s like a daily struggle, obviously,” she admitted.

On April 8, Plaza confirmed via her spokesperson that she is expecting a baby with Abbott with a source telling People magazine that she and Abbott “feel very blessed,” adding that the pregnancy came as a “beautiful surprise after an emotional year.“

Before the news was shared, Plaza had not publicly revealed the news about her relationship with Abbott, whom she has collaborated with on several projects, including the 2020 movie “Black Bear.” They also starred alongside each other in the off-Broadway production of “Danny and the Deep Blue Sea” in 2023.

Australian actress Milly Alcock has shed fresh light on just how much her life has changed since she secured her role in the hit HBO series “House of the Dragon,” admitting that—when she landed the job—she was working as a dish washer and living inside a cramped attic room at her parents’ home.

The 26-year-old, who will next star in the upcoming DC Comics movie “Supergirl” as the titular character, has admitted that the jet-setting lifestyle she now lives as one of Hollywood‘s most promising stars is a world away from what her life was like just a few years ago.

Alcock, who is best known for playing the part of a young Rhaenyra Targaryen in “House of the Dragon,” was born and raised in a suburb of Sydney, where she lived with her parents and two younger brothers.

She first developed a love of acting at a very young age, when she was cast as Little Red Riding Hood in a school play—and she began pursuing a professional career in the industry when she was still just a teenager.

Luckily, it didn’t take long for that work to pay off; the actress started landing several small roles in multiple Australian TV shows and commercials when she was 14, before securing a much larger part in Australian series “Upright” when she was 18—a role that required her to drop out of school.

At the time, her performance in the show received wide praise, with Vogue Australia publishing an article in 2020 in which it stated that Alcock was “bound to make it big in Hollywood.”

But even after all that hometown success, Alcock was still very much living a humble, down-to-earth life, explaining in a new interview with Variety that, while “Upright” may have earned her attention from industry leaders, it didn’t provide her with enough of a financial cushion that she was able to quit her day job or move into a place of her own.

“I was living in the attic in my family home, because we didn’t have enough rooms,” she recalls of her life immediately after “Upright” was shot. “It was so hot in there.”

In order to earn some extra cash—having left school without a certificate or diploma—Allcock started working as a dish washer at a popular Sydney eatery, a job she says she tackled with great gusto, albeit without a huge amount of skill.

“I was a stick of a thing. I was washing these dishes so proudly and so terribly, and it was an open kitchen so everyone could see me,” she recalled.

It was during this time that Alcock first auditioned for “House of the Dragon,” a process that took place entirely over Zoom because of COVID restrictions at the time.

She later confessed in an interview with Stellar Magazine that securing the part of Rhaenyra came as a complete shock to her, not least because of her living conditions at the time.

“I never thought this would happen to me. I was washing dishes in a restaurant, living in my mom’s attic,” she joked. “This doesn’t happen to people like me, so it was incredibly quick. I froze, and took a deep breath and said to my friend, ‘Do you have wine?’ Then I called my mom.”

The actress didn’t even dare give up her day job until she actually traveled to start shooting the series, previously revealing to Harper’s Bazaar that she continued working in a cafe in the Sydney suburb of Marickville.

“I was literally washing dishes every day. Nobody knew!” she joked.

In 2024, Alcock opened up her mother’s house—and her former attic room—to TikTok star Caleb Simpson, revealing a glimpse inside the very eclectic home where she was raised.

Urging Simpson to head up a ladder through a trapdoor in the ceiling, the actress exclaimed, “This used to be my room!”

Alcock then revealed an adorable space, decorated with rainbow Christmas lights, piles of books, unique road signs, and a mattress being used as a bed.

“This is where all of your hopes and dreams were dreamed up,” Simpson remarked.

“It is a bit magical,” she conceded, before revealing that the attic space served as the backdrop for her very first “House of the Dragon” audition.

In fact, Alcock said the Christmas lights—which she hung up while she was living there—actually earned her a fair amount of mockery from show producers who “kept making fun” of her because of the wall accessory.

Recalling the exact spot she sat in when doing her audition, admitting that she was forced to sit in front of a light bulb hanging from a beam because she didn’t have any professional lighting.

Elsewhere in the home, Alcock revealed the main living space of the house opened up directly to the quaint garden, which had been decorated with multiple road signs that her mother had “stolen” over a period of many years.

Explaining that her family had been living in the adorable property for 15 years, Alcock noted that she still returned home to the dwelling every time she went back to Australia.

Alcock was actually at the family abode when she learned she had been cast in “Supergirl” via a text from director and DC Studios CEO James Gunn, who sent her a link to an article about her landing the role.

“I was kind of in disbelief. I was initially like, ‘What have I done?’” the actress recalled of the moment in a 2025 interview with Elle. “I then invited all my friends over to the house and we drank champagne.”

Not long after, Alcock traveled to the U.K., where much of the filming for the movie took place—with reports emerging at the time that she had finally moved into her own home in the form of an apartment in the upscale London neighborhood of Primrose Hill.

However, she has since revealed that she has relocated to East London, where she is still understood to be based.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds‘ quest to build a custom eco-friendly estate on a sprawling 110-acre parcel in upstate New York has reportedly hit a significant hurdle—amid claims that the couple owes $2.1 million in unpaid fees to contractors they hired to work on the enormous property.

Just weeks after Lively’s highly-publicized legal battle with former co-star Justin Baldoni came to an end, the actress and her spouse have been mired in controversy once again, this time relating to their lives away from the big screen.

The “It Ends With Us” actress and the “Deadpool” star began snapping up several properties in the town of Lewisboro, NY, back in 2018, with property records showing that they bought six adjacent parcels of land, totaling 110 acres, via the same LLC, the largest of which was purchased for $12 million.

In June 2022, Lively shed some light on their plans for the sprawling property—which is located just a few miles away from a $5.7 million farmhouse they own in Pound Ridge, NY—telling a virtual meeting of the Lewisboro Planning Board that she and her husband wanted to construct “an incredibly sustainable” retreat on the land.

“We have 110 acres and we don’t have a house,” she said at the time, per the Katonah-Lewisboro Times. “So, this is just us saying we’re so excited to live here.”

The actress hinted that the duo had plans to turn the residence into their primary home, telling the board meeting that she was looking forward to raising their four children—James, 11, Inez, 9, Betty, 6, and Olin, 3—on the estate.

“Our kids are growing up way too fast, which is [not] your problem, but definitely ours,” she continued. “We’ve had this property for four years now and I’m just desperate to get shovels in the ground, and be living on this land and enjoying it.”

Lively went on to gush about the local community, describing it as “heaven,” before insisting that she and her husband planned to keep two existing structures that were already in place on their property—a small cottage and a two-bedroom house.

Their proposed abode was meant to feature a swimming pool, a private gym, and a spacious pool house, records show.

Planning permits and applications filed that same year indicate that the couple was given approval to break ground on their dream dwelling that same year, however they were forced to downsize their initial plans for the primary residence to 14,500 square feet.

However, the Daily Mail now reports that construction on the opulent dwelling has ceased, alleging that the couple has been slapped with liens from multiple contractors and subcontractors, who claim they have not been paid for the work done on the home thus far.

The largest of those claims, which totals more than $1.35 million, was filed by FlowCon Inc., also known as Flower Construction, the outlet states. That company had been hired to handle the home’s HVAC systems, plumbing, framing, masonry, and waterproofing, among other aspects of the construction process.

There are also claims made for payments for drainage systems, trim installation, structural work, and septic installation.

Realtor.com has contacted a spokesperson for the couple for comment.

The latest report comes just weeks after Lively and her former “It Ends With Us” co-star, Baldoni, settled a lengthy legal dispute over allegations that he defamed the actress by orchestrating a smear campaign meant to destroy her public reputation after she accused him of sexual harassment.

Baldoni has repeatedly denied the claims—however the two reached a settlement just days before their trial was due to begin on May 18. The details of that settlement have not been fully revealed, but lawyers for the actor and his production company, Wayfarer, alleged in a May 8 court filing that the actress “dismissed her three remaining claims without the … defendants paying a cent.”

Lively had previously claimed that she lost more than $40 million as a result of the “reputational damage” she suffered during her public feud with Baldoni, as well as $49 million in losses to her haircare company, Blake Brown, and $22 million in losses to her beverage brand, Betty Buzz.

Rumors also began to surface in the lead-up to the trial that Reynolds and Lively were eyeing a move overseas in order to escape the fallout from the scandal, with sources alleging that they had discussed relocating their family to the U.K., where the actor owns a popular soccer team, Wrexham.

“With Ryan’s huge success with [his Welsh soccer club], Wrexham, he has a great affinity for the U.K.,” a source alleged to the Daily Mail in April, noting that the actress “could rebrand there.”

The insider further claimed that the only thing stopping the duo from making the overseas move was considerations about how it might impact their children.

“What’s making them take a long, hard look at their immediate future is that their kids’ schooling and friends are in the States,” they said.

A move to the U.K. would also see the family walking away from their very impressive East Coast property portfolio, which includes the Lewisboro estate, a sprawling property in nearby Pound Ridge, and a luxury apartment in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood.

It’s thought that they have been using their expansive Pound Ridge property as their main residence of late, largely because it affords them much more privacy than they are able to enjoy in the city—even though they live in a building that is reported to be “paparazzi-proof.”

Still, as far as space is concerned, the Pound Ridge property is hard to beat. Built in 1860, the seven-bedroom countryside retreat offers 8,892 square feet of living space. The 12-acre parcel appears to have a converted barn on the premises, as well as stone walls, a stocked pond, and orchards.

The property boasts seven bedrooms and six bathrooms and comes with a separate guesthouse.

“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Taylor Frankie Paul is celebrating a very positive milestone after closing on her first home as a solo buyer—in the wake of a turbulent few months in which her personal life has been once again thrust into the spotlight.

Paul, 31, documented the emotional moment in a candid Instagram video, filming herself signing the paperwork to seal the deal on the Utah abode, before posing for photos with a giant key and confetti.

The reality star, who split from her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, in May 2025 following a spate of domestic violence allegations from both parties, credited her mother, real estate agent Liann May, with helping her to find her dream abode, before reflecting on the tumultuous chapter in her life that ultimately led her to make the purchase.

“Officially a solo home owner and thank you to the best real estate agent in Utah, Liann May,” she wrote in the caption. “I see the sadness through the excitement but I am trying.”

It marks the first time that the mother of three has owned her own abode, having previously revealed that she has spent much of her adult life renting.

Paul previously teased her homeowner era during an Instagram Story on May 6, where she revealed, “I just bought my first house on my own. [I had] been renting for years.”

The home purchase comes after a difficult year for the Hulu personality, whose highly publicized relationship with Mortensen played out both online and on-screen during recent seasons of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”

Paul and Mortensen—who share son Ever together—split after a series of explosive public allegations and legal disputes, including domestic violence accusations that made headlines earlier this year.

The reality star has since been open about wanting a “fresh start,” previously sharing emotional videos of herself packing up her former home while navigating the breakup and co-parenting challenges. 

Now, however, Paul appears focused on rebuilding her life independently—with the new Utah property symbolizing a major turning point, both personally and financially.

It comes just weeks after prosecutors revealed that they would not file charges against Paul following an investigation into domestic violence allegations made about her and Mortensen, 33.

The former couple were locked in a bitter legal battle for weeks, after it emerged in March that the pair had been involved in a domestic violence incident the previous month—news that prompted ABC to yank Paul’s season of “The Bachelorette” from the air just hours before it was due to premiere.

In April, a judge ruled that Mortensen must stay at least 100 feet away from Paul until their next court hearing on April 30, while also barring him from contacting her by phone or email. He was also told he cannot go to Paul’s Utah home.

However, the same judge, 3rd District Court Commissioner Russell Minas, also ruled that Mortensen will continue to have temporary custody of their 2-year-old son, with Paul given up to eight hours of supervised visitation per week.

Paul also shares daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 5, with her former husband, Tate Paul.

“I have concerns going both ways,” Minas said after reviewing Paul’s and Mortensen’s dueling petitions, in which Paul described her ex-boyfriend as an “abusive individual,” according to The New York Times, which obtained the documents.

Later that same month, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office declined to press criminal charges.

“Cried when I got the call. THANK YOU to those that have stood with me,” Paul wrote on her Instagram when she learned about the update.

Meanwhile Mortensen shared his own statement in which he apologized to anyone who had been wrapped up in the bitter spat with his ex, writing: “I regret not stepping away from the difficult cycle sooner. I’m not perfect, and I take accountability for my part.

“I’m sincerely sorry to those I’ve hurt. At the same time, I don’t agree with how this situation has been portrayed publicly. It does not reflect the full context of what occurred or the impact it has had on me and my son.

“Over the past several weeks, I’ve taken a step back and had time away from the chaos. That space has been a breath of fresh air and has given me clarity. My focus now is where it should have been all along—on my son and creating a stable, healthy environment for him moving forward.”

Just days before learning she wouldn’t be criminally charged, Paul announced that she was cutting ties with the Mormon church.

TV host Stephen Colbert is preparing to hang up his hat as one of the reigning kings of the late night talk show, when his eponymous series comes to an end on May 21, bringing CBS’ aptly named “Late Night” franchise to a close, after more than 30 years on the air.

For the last 11 years of those three decades, Colbert, 62, has helmed the show, welcoming a wide variety of guests—from Taylor Swift to Barack Obama—while delivering pithy commentary on the state of society, politics, economics, and pop culture.

Throughout that time, Colbert has been an East Coast staple, filming his series out of the historic Ed Sullivan Theater in Manhattan‘s Midtown neighborhood, while spending his personal time at his family’s sprawling mansion in Montclair, NJ.

But even before his show entered its final two weeks, which began with a visit from several of his fellow late night hosts, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and John Oliver, questions were already being raised about what the future holds for Colbert—and whether he will pivot from East Coast comedy to the bright lights of Hollywood.

The longtime television personality recently joked about the growing speculation surrounding his next move during an episode of his show, noting that there have been a wild variety of conspiracies about what he will do next, almost none of which are entirely true.

“I’ve heard a lot of theories—everything from I’m moving to CNN to I’m announcing a massive wildlife rescue program to I’m running for president of the United States,” Colbert quipped. “Now, here’s the thing. I can reveal right now that all of those are partially true.

“Next year, I will be president of an animal sanctuary dedicated to caring for the rare Blitzer Wolf,” he added.

Jokes aside, however, Colbert has already started expanding into new creative territory that has taken him far beyond New York City—starting with a major movie role that was announced in March 2026: co-writer of the next “Lord of the Rings” installment.

During the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, filmmaker Peter Jackson revealed that Colbert had been hard at work on the movie, which is titled “The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past,” after personally pitching the project himself.

Jackson explained that Colbert became deeply invested in the project long before CBS announced the cancellation, with the late night host even traveling to New Zealand to work on the screenplay alongside his son and longtime Tolkien collaborators.

Work aside, Colbert is already planning to hit the road immediately after his show concludes, telling The Hollywood Reporter in a recent interview that he has an action-packed schedule lined up, focusing almost entirely on familial commitments.

“My brother is getting married, so my whole family is going to be here on [May 21], and then we’re all going to get on the train and go to DC for the wedding. So, immediately after the show’s over, there’s something much more important going on,” he revealed, before noting that his obligations as a family man actually start even before his show concludes, when his son will graduate from college on May 18.

“There’s something much more important going on the Monday before, too,” he added. “My son is graduating from college. Then there’s a little blip in the middle where my 20-year late night career comes to an end. The universe has conspired to give me the proper perspective.”

He also revealed to the outlet that Hollywood had come calling as soon as his show’s cancellation was announced, but noted that he hadn’t accepted any other big projects because he wanted to focus solely on finishing his late night run before thinking about what lies ahead.

“Yes, immediately,” he said when asked if he’d been pitched scripts. “And listen, people have been patient because I’ve had to say, like, ‘I’m sorry, when I no longer have to think about this show all the time, I’ll have a better idea of what I want to do.’ But it’s been very nice.”

The comedian has previously admitted that he was actually looking forward to having a break from the late night grind, particularly when it comes to dealing with the heaviness of politics and news.

“I love what we do and I love the grind,” Colbert explained to GQ. “But there is a sense of relief that I might not have to put on the snorkel and get into the sewer every day.”

The Emmy-winning host added that he is looking forward to consuming politics in a far less intense way once the show wraps.

“Now I can be as interested as I want to be,” Colbert said while discussing life after late night, adding that he hopes to engage with politics more “recreationally” and “privately,” according to CinemaBlend.

The host also acknowledged just how all-consuming the production schedule became behind the scenes, revealing that the show occupied “95%” of his brain, Colbert told the outlet.

And while fans are focused on the emotional final episode, Colbert recently revealed that the aftermath behind the scenes will be far less sentimental.

“We all have to be out,” Colbert explained while discussing the abrupt closure of the Ed Sullivan Theater during a recent late night host roundtable. “I’m already packed,” he added, according to Entertainment Weekly. 

According to the comedian, staff members will stop being paid immediately after the finale airs, with offices expected to be vacated within days. 

Whether Colbert will be taking box loads of memorabilia back to his family home in Montclair remains to be seen, however.

Interestingly, his life at home has also gone through several big changes in recent years, with his youngest child, son John, 24, now set to graduate from Yale, becoming the last of Colbert’s kids to finish school. His two older children, daughter Madeleine and son Peter, have already embarked on their own careers, with both following in their father’s footsteps with jobs in the entertainment industry.

In other words, the conclusion of Colbert’s show could also coincide with the host and his wife, Evelyn “Evie” McGee-Colbert, becoming official empty nesters, giving them much more freedom in terms of what they choose to do next.

For the last 19 years, the couple has lived in a stunning 6,000-square-foot suburban manse in the New Jersey enclave, having purchased it for $1.9 million in 2007, according to records.

They stand to earn a pretty impressive return on their investment should they decide to sell, however, with Realtor.com® currently estimating that the dwelling is worth more than $3.2 million.

Country star Carrie Underwood lives a double life: During her working week, she’s a chart-topping A-lister and a red carpet regular; but behind the scenes, she spends her days knee-deep in chicken poop on her family’s 400-acre Tennessee farm.

Underwood, 43, has been in the spotlight since 2004, when she auditioned for the fourth season of “American Idol,” eventually going on to win the competition, a victory that propelled her to stardom—and the top of the Billboard charts.

The Oklahoma native has maintained a thriving music career ever since, even becoming the first “American Idol” winner to serve as a judge on the show, a position she has held since March 2025.

Yet Underwood has never strayed far from her very rural roots, opting to reject the traditional Los Angeles lifestyle in favor of spending the past 20 years living a much quieter, private life in Nashville, where she moved in 2005, soon after winning the talent show.

Since then, the singer has steadily upgraded her residences—most recently moving into a custom-designed mansion on an enormous 400-acre farm in Franklin, TN. Underwood and her husband, former NFL star Mike Fisher, purchased the palatial parcel in two separate transactions, beginning in 2011, for a total of $3.2 million.

They then embarked on designing their custom dream home on the property, which also features multiple barns, a private lake, vegetable gardens, and a chicken coop. The duo operate much of the land as a working farm.

Underwood and Fisher—who share sons Isaiah, 11, and Jacob, 6—officially moved into their enormous mansion on the property in 2018, just a few months before welcoming their second child. It has served as their primary residence ever since.

Though they largely take full advantage of the privacy that their expansive abode affords them, the “Before He Cheats” singer recently shared some insight into what life is really like on the farm—and how it feels to travel between the rural Nashville estate and the bright lights of Hollywood.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Underwood explained that she feels as if her career is the “polar opposite” to her life at home as a mother, wife, and part-time farmer, explaining that she relishes the opportunity to enjoy both environments.

However, she confessed that it can feel a bit strange going between those two worlds, joking that the nitty-gritty of farming makes her feel all the more glamorous when she does step in front of the cameras on the “American Idol” set, particularly because she spends much of her time at home in much muckier circumstances.

“When I’m away, I’m like Cinderella at the ball. I’m a princess, and it’s great,” she explained.

“And then I come home, and I’m, like, covered in dirt. I’m covered in poop. It’s just the polar opposite. I’m, like, cleaning up after everybody and barefoot in the kitchen. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

The country star added that she prefers to tackle as much of the farming work personally if she can, even if that leads to some “frustrating” challenges.

“My goal is to just do as much as I can myself,” she said. “I love it. It’s a challenge, and it’s frustrating, and it’s exciting, and it’s rewarding, and just all the things.”

Occasionally, Underwood shares glimpses of9 her farm on her Instagram account, revealing that—in addition to caring for sheep, chickens, and ducks—she regularly harvests fruit and vegetables from her garden, which she uses to make pantry essentials like apple sauce.

One of her more recent successes on the property was growing the Italian heirloom tromboncino squash, which she first planted in summer 2025, although she admitted that her seed sowing process was somewhat haphazard.

“I have always read great things about the Tromboncino squash and thought I’d give it a try this year. I’m a lazy gardener and I just throw seeds in the ground and hope for the best,” she said.

“Only one germinated…thank goodness! Can’t wait to see how it all turns out!”

Luckily for Underwood, her chaotic technique appears to have been very fruitful, with the singer revealing in November that she had harvested five of the enormous vegetables, several of which were almost as tall as she is.

“I had to show off these Tromboncino squash! I’ve got 5 of these babies! Woo hoo! We’ll be eating these all winter!” she said, while proudly posing for photos with the squash.

In many ways, though the property she now resides in is a far cry from the quaint Oklahoma dwelling where she was raised, her life in Tennessee is very much a return to her rural roots. Previously, Underwood had revealed that she enjoyed a very sheltered countryside upbringing, before hitting the big time on “American Idol.”

When she made it through the first round of the show’s auditions and automatically secured herself a spot in the Hollywood round of the competition, the singer admitted that it would be the first time she’d ever set foot in an airport or travel on a plane.

“I was horrified and my dad, on the way to the airport, I was about to cry, and he said, ‘If you want to go home, we can go home, and you don’t ever have to think about this ever again,'” she recalled. “And I was like, ‘But I will think about it, so I have to.'”

In a recent interview with SiriusXM, Underwood said that she learned very quickly after winning “American Idol” that she wanted to separate her private life from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, admitting that it never felt “real” to her.

“I went from living on a farm to being on stage in front of a ton of people and traveling, and we’re in a different city every day,” she said. “I learned very quickly that this is not real life.”

She added: “It’s important for me that home is just way different than this. We have definitely established that. My kids see me. We get up, we take them to school, we’re making breakfast, packing lunches.”

Indeed, when she’s at home, Underwood said her focus is solely on her kids—and being a good mother and wife, ensuring that the family enjoys dinner together “at least five nights a week.”

“We eat dinner at least five nights a week at the dinner table, and it’s something I cooked,” she said, before joking: “I don’t know if it’s good or not, but we ain’t starving.”

The singer has previously opened up about her desire to raise her children in as “normal” an environment as possible, explaining to People magazine earlier this year that both she and her husband had agonized over the best way to separate their kids from their own celebrity careers.

“I remember when we first found out we were going to have [Isaiah], it [was], like, ‘How are we gonna do this?’ Our lives are so crazy as it is,” she shared.

“But you just make room, and you learn how important that family time is, and to be able to spend time and carve out some of that and maybe get to go on vacation and maybe get to go on a cruise—that stuff is so important to, like I said, make time for family. That’s what it’s all about.”

She added in a 2020 interview with the outlet that she was thrilled when her older son described her job as “doing laundry,” because it meant she’d managed to keep him removed from her actual career.

“Isaiah recently said my job is doing laundry and I kind of loved that, because I don’t really want him to know what I do,” she revealed. “Not that I’m keeping him in the dark, but it made me feel good that he sees me doing mom stuff.”

Home renovation guru Joanna Gaines is renowned for her elegant house-flipping skills—but when it comes to working on her own home, the HGTV star has admitted that things can get a little bit more chaotic than the picture-perfect version of events viewers see on TV.

Gaines, 48, and her husband, Chip, 51, are currently carrying out a major overhaul of the kitchen at their longtime Texas farmhouse, a project that has become decidedly more complicated by their refusal to temporarily leave the dwelling while construction is carried out.

The mother of five opened up about the mayhem that has erupted in their Waco, TX, abode as a result of the kitchen renovation, which is being done at around the same time that their younger kids are due to finish school for the year.

As a result, Gaines said she is being “stubborn” about remaining in the house as work is carried out, insisting that she wants her kids to maintain some stability during this time in their lives.

In a video posted to her Instagram account, Gaines opened up about the mammoth project, revealing a glimpse inside the havoc it has caused, while explaining that she is struggling to figure out how to balance the work with her parenting obligations.

“I’m trying to do this renovation in pieces. I am stubborn in that I refuse to move out. The kids have two weeks left of school,” she explained.

“This is going to be a fun two weeks of trying to figure out how to end the school year well, but also work through mothers’ emotional challenges through renovation.”

The reality TV icon and her husband share five kids: son Drew, 21, and daughter Ella, 19, who are away at college, plus sons Drake, 17, and Crew, 7, and daughter Emmie, 16, who are all still in school.

The upcoming end-of-year milestone hasn’t stopped the Gaines family from making some significant progress on the renovation, which Gaines proudly showed off in her clip.

“The guys moved this wall over. This beautiful hutch came in last week. We already painted behind it. This weekend we’ll paint the rest of the shiplap just a creamier white,” she said, pointing to the large furniture piece.

“But it is kind of funny that this is my normal,” she added, before gesturing to the kitchen cabinets and adding, “and then that’s a bit undone.” 

She then revealed a large window that was added to the room.

“This gorgeous old warehouse window went in, and then today, all of this goes away,” she said.

In the caption of her post, Gaines revealed that her home was going through its first makeover in over 15 years.

“Living through the farm renovation is building character, but getting a front-row seat to it all coming together is my favorite part. After almost 15 years, my kitchen is getting a whole new look,” she penned.

Just last week, Gaines showed off the work that has thus far been done in her kitchen while eating her breakfast.

The star could be seen munching on a breakfast burrito in the clip, which then panned over to her kitchen, which was filled with construction workers who have already made extensive progress on gutting the space and removing the existing cabinets and fixtures.

“Breakfast with a side of sawdust. #FarmReno,” she captioned the clip.

However, it appears that the Gaines family have a ways to go before they will be able to use their kitchen once again, with the space currently left almost entirely bare of all appliances.

The home pro’s fans flocked to the comments section to express their excitement about the space, begging Gaines to continue to provide updates.

“I can’t imagine redoing your kitchen when it was already so beautiful!” one person said.

Another social media user added, “Love this! Can’t wait to see the finished product!!!!”

Gaines has previously opened up about her farmhouse updates, revealing that she was also going to be transforming her son’s nursery into a walk-in pantry and expansive baking room.

The design expert frequently shows off her farmhouse, which she has previously branded her forever home, on her social media, showcasing the expansive amount of lush greenery.

Set on 40 acres, the dwelling has already undergone extensive updates conceived by the talented home design duo.

Gaines previously opened up about life inside her Waco farmhouse during an appearance on the “Today” show, sharing a glimpse inside some of the tips and tricks that viewers will find on her new show, “Magnolia Table: At the Farm,” which she hosts with Chip.

The on-air renovations expert, who hosts the show inside her own dwelling, explained that one of the “weird” ways she tries to make the abode more appealing to visitors is keeping an array of treats on offer in her kitchen at all times—a tradition she said was started by a wedding gift she and Chip received in 2003.

“There’s a cake plate stand on the island that since I first got married—it was like the first year, I got it for a wedding gift, and it was empty,” she explained. “We had so many friends and family coming in, and I was like, ‘I need to start having something in there,’ so it was kind of a weird rule I made.”

To this day, Gaines said, she continues to keep the cake stand fully stocked with baked goods to offer guests—or her children—whenever they want a sweet treat.

“The rule is just kind of always have something on the cake plate stand for the family or for guests,” she said.

However, she conceded that, after her two eldest kids moved out of the family’s abode to attend college, she ends up being the person who partakes most often.

“It’s really me now just eating the stuff, so that’s fun. It’s now for me,” she joked.

“Magnolia Table: At the Farm” marks a new chapter for the Gaines family, who had previously used a separate kitchen to film different installments of the series in a bid to preserve their own home as a safe haven.

To ensure that their family didn’t suffer too much disruption, Gaines revealed that she put in place some restrictions around when filming could take place—and how many people were allowed in their dwelling at a time during production.
