Actress Katherine Heigl is saying goodbye to her longtime Utah retreat—14 years after she took a step back from the Hollywood spotlight in order to enjoy a quieter life with her family at the extraordinary mountain home.

Now, as she prepares to turn the page on the next chapter of her life, the 47-year-old former “Grey’s Anatomy” star is ready to move on from her 25-acre Oakley, UT, property, putting it on the market for $10.6 million.

Heigl, who is also known for her starring roles in “27 Dresses” and “Knocked Up,” purchased the land on which her family’s custom mansion now sits for $1 million in 2007—the same year that she married singer-songwriter Josh Kelley. The couple, who share three children, then spent the better part of a year building their dream dwelling on the expansive parcel.

Listing agent Paul Benson of Engel & Völkers tells Realtor.com® that Heigl and Kelley are now moving on to another, albeit smaller, Utah dwelling: a nearby farmhouse that they have spent the past year restoring.

“After raising their kids in this home, Katherine and Josh decided to move into their newly restored farmhouse within the area, starting a new chapter for their family as their children get older,” he reveals.

Still, Heigl—who relocated to Utah full time in 2012—admitted to the Wall Street Journal that letting go of the home will not be easy.

“It’s been very hard to decide to let it go. I’m a real sort-of homebody and creature of habit,” she shared. The couple ultimately reached the decision when they realized that they would likely want a smaller, more manageable home to share when their three kids—who are aged 17, 14, and 9—move out.

“When they’re all gone—all slaying their own dragons and living their lives—it’s just you and me in this giant house on this giant land,” Heigl said of the conversation she had with her husband about selling.

Having built the home to serve as their family’s private sanctuary, Benson says, the couple are seeking the perfect buyer who will value everything that they have relished about the property, particularly its “privacy and legacy.”

“We’re looking for a buyer who values privacy, land, and legacy over a resort address. Someone drawn to the creative life this home was built around who still wants Park City and Deer Valley within easy reach,” he explains.

The property—which features six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a private waterfall, and sweeping views of Utah’s rolling mountains—would also no doubt be ideal for those buyers who are seeking a legacy property for their family, one where they can relish the beauty of their natural surroundings.

Set on a beautifully lush plot, the home blends rustic charm with modern luxury, welcoming guests with exposed brick walls, soaring wood-beamed ceilings, an open-concept layout, and thoughtfully updated finishes throughout.

Surely one of the most lavish spots in the home is the primary suite, which is described as a true “retreat,” boasting an enormous bedroom, a glamorous walk-in closet, and a stunning en suite bathroom with a tub that has its own “wall-fed water feature,” the listing notes.

Elsewhere in the main residence, there is a gym, an office, and multiple fireplaces that add a cozy feel to the living spaces.

There is also a separate structure on the property that Heigl used as her personal art studio, having transported it in using a crane, the description reveals.

“The detached, craned-in studio with water, bath, and heat has served as Heigl’s art studio and now houses Kelley’s working leather atelier; for its next owner, it becomes whatever is needed, an art studio, a workshop, a guest studio, an office, or a gym,” it states.

The grounds also include a heated pool and expansive terrace, which was built for entertaining.

But, according to Benson, one of the property’s most alluring features is the incredible privacy that it offers thanks to the sprawling 25-acre parcel that it occupies. Despite this expanse of land, the home still manages to feel like an intimate family space, he says.

“The estate offers rare privacy on 24.73 protected acres with lush grounds that make it a true backyard oasis for kids and dogs to run and play, and a home built to entertain at scale from the 30-foot great room to the expansive terraces and heated pool set against the panoramic mountain views,” he tells Realtor.com.

It was, in other words, the perfect place for Heigl to retreat to when she made the decision to step back from Hollywood. She relocated to the property full time in 2012—having come under furious criticism within the industry over claims she was “difficult” to work with.

In 2025, she told E! News that she has no regrets about walking away from the glitz and glamour, saying the decision was what was best for both her family and her mental health.

“I have found and carved out this peace for myself and for my family, and it brings me so much joy and contentment and clarity and grounding,” she said.

“Sometimes I ask myself if I should be in the game, if I should be hustling, if I should be more ambitious. And I just think I really don’t want to. If you don’t want that, then don’t do it, just because you think that’s what you’re supposed to do, or that’s what society expects from you,” she added.

She also revealed that leaving Los Angeles in the rearview strengthened her relationship with Kelley, with whom she shares children Naleigh, 17, Adalaide, 14, and Joshua, 9.

“For me, he’s just become, especially in this world we’ve created for ourselves out in Utah, he’s become such my person, and he has always been. Even in the beginning, like a safe harbor, somebody I could just really depend on and count on,” she said.

The actress further explained that she has been choosing to put her children first during their teenage years, which is when they need her “most.”

“When they’re little, that’s the most delicious and exciting time for you as a parent; but when they’re teenagers is when they need you the most, and that’s where I’m at. I just don’t see how I could go off and make a movie for three months or a television series for nine months,” she said.

She added, “Nothing shoots in Utah, so I have to go on location, and it’s just, it’s not something right now that I can fathom doing successfully. I think I would be so torn and divided. I don’t know how much of my attention I could give a project when I’m worried about my kids at home.”

One of the oldest homes in California‘s wine country has been brought to the market for the first time in more than a decade—having changed hands on only a few occasions since it was built for one of Sonoma County‘s most prominent “pioneering settlers.”

Built in 1868, the four-bedroom, two-bathroom Greek Revival home in Healdsburg is referred to as Hassett’s Ranch in honor of John D. Hassett, the man who commissioned it all those years ago, when it was seen as “one of the most prestigious homes of its era,” according to the listing.

Now on the market for $3.9 million, the dwelling is ready to embrace a new chapter, having been lovingly cared for by its current owners for more than 10 years.

“The fact that this is dating back to 1868 and is in wonderful condition is a testament to how wonderful the homes were built back then, and how well the stewards have maintained this,” City Real Estate agent Rachel Hooper, who is co-listing the home with Drew Raher, explained.

“It’s a really special home, unlike anything else.”

In many ways, the house is a tale of two histories; though it is deeply connected to Healdsburg’s rich winemaking heritage, Hassett was actually not a winemaker. Instead, he established Healdsburg’s first flour and saw mills and also launched the first local bank, helping the local economy to boom.

Much like Hassett, the home was also one of the building blocks of what is now a thriving community—in fact, the only Healdsburg house still standing that is older than this dwelling is the Hassett Cabin, which was built in 1853, having also been commissioned by Hassett.

Other than the Camellia Inn, which was built in 1869 and was formerly known as the Ransom Powell House, the next homes in the community didn’t pop up until the 1870s.

With four bedrooms and two baths, this could easily suit a family but might also entice as a second home, with Hooper revealing that she and Raher have seen several inquiries from San Franciscans who are seeking a weekend or vacation retreat for their families.

“We’re seeing a lot of interest from San Francisco buyers as second homes,” says Hooper. “People are looking at this as a family compound or a space for family to gather.”

Owners of homes in more rural areas of Healdsburg are also expressing interest, says Raher, due to concerns about wildfires.

When the sellers bought the home in 2015, from a family that held on to it for 20 years, they had initially planned to use it as a second home, before deciding to move into the residence full time.

At that point, they embarked on a large number of updates that included adding new tankless water heaters and A/C, as well as modernizing the baths.

Previous owners added a pool and also did some work on the foundation when they converted it from a duplex back to a single-family home. A putting green has also since been added, turning this property into a perfect spot for entertaining.

The property also offers another rare amenity in Healdsburg: land. Set on just under half an acre, it offers more than most dwellings in the area—and its residents over the years have taken full advantage of that feature, turning the parcel into a lush oasis.

Mature trees are in abundance, including dogwoods, cedar, maple, palm and citrus, joining established flower gardens.

“Standing on the front porch, you’re looking at trees and you have this sense of being farther out, in the country, but you’re moments from the Foss Creek Pathway, which takes you to the farmers market, incredible food, and the town plaza,” explains Hooper.

What’s more, while the home is located in a historic district, it’s not designated as historic. This means the buyers can continue updating with fewer restrictions.

“For people that want to do renovations, there’s a little bit more flexibility,” says Raher. “A lot of people we’ve had come through had the idea to push out the back of the house to add more space.”

Another area to expand lies in the 1,000-square-foot detached carriage house, with its 15-foot ceilings and existing electricity and water service. An additional 900 square feet of attic space in that carriage house could be converted into living space.

“We’ve done some preliminary renderings to give people inspiration,” says Hooper. “We’ve seen a lot of people in the area, and around the Bay Area, transform garage space into ADUs. It’s always nice to have guests visit but not necessarily [stay] in your space.”

Turning it into an Airbnb is another option.

Given the home’s long provenance, there have been opportunities to meet past residents, or those connected to them.

“On Father’s Day, one of the descendants of John Hassett brought her father [to an open house],” says Hooper. “We’ve come across a lot of people who have connections to the house.”

With SpaceX’s historic initial public offering minting a small army of new millionaires overnight, the Southern California housing market is bracing for a big wave of buyers looking to upgrade their digs or perhaps snag a second home, potentially driving up prices in some in-demand neighborhoods.

Shares of SpaceX started trading June 12 and ended the day having raised $75 billion and making founder Elon Musk the world’s first trillionaire. It was by far the largest IPO on record, more than double the 2019 offering by Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil giant Saudi Aramco.

At least 4,000 current and former SpaceX employees are expected to become millionaires, with about 400 of them earning $100 million or more, said Andrew Benson, chief executive of Hill.com, an investment platform for trading stock in pre-IPO tech companies.

SpaceX’s compensation philosophy historically favored equity over cash salaries, so this windfall extends well beyond executives and engineers to include nontechnical staff, entry-level workers and even cafeteria employees.

Because SpaceX has its highest concentration of employees in humble Hawthorne south of the 105 Freeway, the homebuying spree is expected to be most pronounced in the sandy South Bay and the “Silicon Beach” tech corridor that includes Venice and Santa Monica, but it may also appear in other upmarket Los Angeles-area neighborhoods or even farther away in the form of second homes.

One SpaceX buyer has been eyeing a $32-million pocket listing of his in tony Brentwood for months while waiting for the IPO, according to real estate broker Cory Weiss of Douglas Elliman.

“People are starting to look,” he said, and most will spend $5 million or more.

Melissa Pilon, a real estate agent in the South Bay with Compass, heard from one SpaceX buyer the day the company went public on a property in north Redondo Beach, and expects to hear from more would-be homeowners.

“I’m not sure how this will play out, but I think real estate agents are feeling optimistic,” Pilon said. “I think there will definitely be an uptick, but I don’t know if it will be a sustainable thing. There might be some superficially inflated prices.”

The SpaceX IPO and planned initial public offerings of OpenAI and Anthropic could generate millions in capital gains tax revenue for the state over years as shareholders cash out.

Even without inclusion of those IPOs, state finance officials this year upped their forecast of capital gains income Californians would earn due to the huge run-up in the stock market driven by AI companies. On average, gains are taxed at 10%.

While SpaceX shares have fallen recently, current and former employees who were granted shares or options still would come away winners given the stock remains above the $135 IPO price. Shares closed Friday at $153.23, up 0.15%.

It could take several months for the housing market to feel the full effect of SpaceX millions, said Paul Habibi, a UCLA lecturer and real estate expert witness at Grayslake Advisors.

The most significant buying boom is likely to take place early next year, he predicted, after the standard lockup on stock sales is fully ended in December. Batches of limited stock sales will be allowed in the coming months, however, and some real estate agents and bankers are putting together workarounds to help expectant millionaires leverage their future gains to secure loans.

Habibi expects the largest concentration of purchases to be focused in the South Bay, primarily Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach, with some spillover into Culver City and possibly north Orange County.

The gush of new money stands to drive up the cost of homes in neighborhoods already in hot demand, echoing a pattern that has occurred in the San Francisco Bay Area.

“A place like Manhattan Beach has roughly 11,000 housing units, so there could be a pretty significant impact if a lot of those folks decide that they want to go buy houses in those neighborhoods that have such a supply constraint,” Habibi said. “Those markets are already among the priciest in Southern California and I can only imagine that will continue with this new wealth creation.”

Hermosa Beach real estate agent Ed Kaminsky agrees interest will center in the South Bay, including Palos Verdes, and he has already heard from prospective SpaceX buyers. Their dream houses have ocean views, swimming pools and four or more bedrooms, which may be hard to find.

“There are a lot of buyers that were in rentals from the Palisades fire looking to buy now and combined with all of the IPOs this summer, I think inventory in South Bay could be tight,” Kaminsky said, “The question is whether we have the kinds of properties on the market that they’re looking for.”

The concentration of buyers looking to purchase property in the South Bay could temporary inflate prices in the area, similar to when Snap Inc., social media platform Snapchat’s parent company, went public in 2017 valued at $24 billion, Habibi said. SpaceX by comparison was valued at $1.77 trillion.

“What’s interesting about Snap is that the workforce was largely clustered on the Westside, and you could see almost immediate effects in Venice and Santa Monica within months of the IPO,” Habibi said. “That was a pretty notable and significant effect on that local housing market” that temporarily inflated prices in an already hot market.

“The amount of wealth and how it comes into L.A. is always very different and vacillates,” Weiss said. “I’m not saying this is groundbreaking and nothing like L.A.’s ever seen before, but I do know that there are people who have been waiting for this to happen.”

Among them are potential buyers who have toured condominiums in Century City, where some of the region’s most luxurious condo towers stand, he said.

Certain buyers may want to buy a condo in a fancy full-service building in L.A. to use as a pied-à-terre, Weiss said, while moving their families to a distant city or state where they could commute by plane on weekends.

San Diego County should see an influx of new buyers with SpaceX dollars, said Del Mar real estate agent Kristina Quesada, co-owner of the Yost Quesada Team at Douglas Elliman. They’ll join a recent wave of house hunters from the Bay Area flush with new tech fortunes and an appetite for second homes or vacation properties near the ocean.

Buyers want to “obtain that coastal lifestyle” for less money than it would cost in other California waterfronts, she said. Popular San Diego County locations run west of Interstate 5 from Carlsbad south through such seaside communities as Encinitas, Del Mar, La Jolla and Coronado Island. Prices start around $2 million.

San Francisco real estate agent Butch Haze of Compass has seen tech booms followed by ravenous bursts of homebuying since the first internet gold rush of the late 1990s.

“Show me a great job market and I’ll show you a really strong real estate market,” he said.

San Francisco’s surging tech industry, which is getting a burst of new business around artificial intelligence, may even have a knock-on effect on Los Angeles-area real estate, Haze said.

After making a fortune through an IPO or acquisition of their companies, “the single tech guys love to move down to L.A. to be closer to the beautiful people,” Haze said. “And they get their beachfront property.”

“Owning Manhattan” star Ryan Serhant has been growing his namesake brokerage steadily across the country in recent years, culminating earlier this year in the opening of four California offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Orange County. To make the California dream a reality, Serhant tapped Ben Belack, formerly of The Agency, to lead the charge in the Golden State, bringing a team of agents along with him.

“Why not?” Belack told The Real Deal in April of his decision to join the brokerage. “I’ve known Ryan for some time and… he and I are extremely similar in our approach to the way we run our business overall.”

Now, the “Buying Beverly Hills” star has been tasked with heading Serhant’s operations in the Golden State as the company’s executive vice president of its California division. Having had some time to settle into the job, Belack spoke with The Real Deal about trends he’s seen so far across the L.A. market, Measure ULA, wildfire rebuilding efforts and more.

This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity.

Serhant’s expansion this year also included four new offices in Texas. Have you been seeing a lot of sellers leaving L.A. for Texas, especially with California’s billionaire tax looming?

Texas, Florida, oh yeah. What stinks for the real estate agent is the longer you’re in a marketplace, as long as you don’t do a terrible job, you generally get referrals, and since like 2017 I’ve been feeling like people have been leaving. It’s scary, because this is the market share I’ve been working towards, right? So we have definitely been feeling on the ground people going, “You know what? Been here, done that.”

You told The Real Deal a few months ago that leaving The Agency was “one of the toughest, if not the toughest, decisions of [your] life.” Why was that?

I’m extremely close with the founders. I’ve had incredible personal experiences with them, but I would also call them mentors. There were many, many, many nights where I was there in the office with them until 8 o’clock at night, and I learned a lot from them, frankly, through a mileage of transactions and collaboration. But also, nothing was broken at The Agency, so that made it hard too.

Have some sellers been scared off by Measure ULA?

Absolutely. Measure ULA is kind of like the dark cloud over us. The non-family friendly topographical locations like Sunset Plaza have been historically more transient than locations south of Sunset, and so those folks who buy there are now being told that their appreciation is going to be levied in taxes. It’s extremely discouraging, especially when you’re a high-net-worth individual and your business manager is warning you of the risks.

What we’ve seen is a ton of high-end leases because people don’t want to sell their most expensive or one of their most expensive assets and have to pay 5.5 percent in taxes.

Last year you spearheaded a call to Gov. Newsom and Mayor Bass about loosening regulations around wildfire rebuilding. Now, a year and a half later, what have you been seeing on the ground?

It’s not easy to rebuild an entire town at the same time, but if the owners aren’t going to sell, it makes it tougher for the builders to build at scale, which discourages them, but it is clear that the City of Los Angeles is not encouraging them.

You want to speed up the rebuild? Just say, “Anyone who sells a house or a piece of land between now and the next few years in the Palisades, no mansion tax.” The builders can make a profit; they’ll buy 10 at a time. They’re just making it impossible. And because they’re disincentivized to build, they’re not going to pay a premium for the land, and that’s what the owners want. So we’re in this stalemate. And they’re still paying their mortgage, they’re still paying property taxes. That stuff doesn’t go away.

Up in San Francisco, the market is dealing with what many are calling a “mansion shortage.” Are you seeing a similar trend in L.A.?

Most of the big sales, they’re still cash buyers. However, high interest rates dictate consumer confidence. And if I’m a very well-off person, and I’m buying a house in the many millions for cash, and I think the market is sluggish, I’m looking for a deal.

I will say, L.A., at the high end, has been good this year already… In Orange County, we just had an over $100 million sale, and then in L.A., we’ve had at least five over $25 million that I’m just remembering off the top of my head. So there’s stuff moving.

Sometimes we find ourselves where the sellers think it’s 2021 and buyers think it’s 2008… So I do know there’s an appetite out there, but if the marketing is not emotionally captivating, you lower your probability of reaching the closing table exponentially.

Going into the rest of this year, do you expect to see more or less market action?

I think that there’s been a lot of people who’ve been waiting for a market price correction, but the thing is is because people have a 4 percent rate or better [in] a meaningful segment of the marketplace, at any given time, a large segment of those people are not going to list their homes for sale, which will always keep inventory relatively low. So I think worst case scenario, we remain flat, but I think that if the price of oil goes down, inflation will go down, which means the price of bonds will go down, and so then the interest rates will go down. I have a feeling that 2026 is going to feel a lot like 2025, where what they call the spring buying season is going to be in the fourth quarter.

“The Devil Wears Prada” star Anne Hathaway is focusing on her growing family alongside her husband, Adam Shulman, who has “stepped it up” as they prepare to welcome baby number three.

Hathaway, 43, announced she is pregnant in an adorable Instagram video that saw her cradling her growing baby bump and smiling from ear to ear.

The beaming actress—who already shares two children, Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6—with her husband captioned the clip, “x Baby, I’m yours x.”

Following the news, a source close to the couple, who are based primarily in Ojai, CA, revealed they are “focused on family.”

“She’s grateful for where she is in her career and for the opportunity to be part of a film that means so much to so many people. Complaining just isn’t Anne. She approaches things with gratitude and professionalism, and that’s exactly how she handled the press tour,” the source told People.

“Right now, she’s focused on family and enjoying a little downtime,” added the insider.

The source noted that Hathaway worked hard to keep the news of her pregnancy a secret during the press tour for “The Devil Wear Prada 2.”

“She wanted to reveal the pregnancy on her own terms. The press tour was about celebrating the movie and getting fans excited to see it,” the source said.

Her pregnancy announcement came mere months after she heaped praise on her husband, crediting him for “stepping up” and overseeing their home life so she can focus on her movie career.

Hathaway, who was been named as People’s World’s Most Beautiful Cover Star, opened up to the outlet about her “hustle” in Hollywood—and the quiet ways in which her 43-year-old spouse has helped her to achieve her on-screen success.

The actress described Shulman as her “dream partner,” revealing how he helps to keep things calm at home amid her “perpetual hustle.”

“I’m having my own little party right now, imagining how hard my husband would laugh at that question,” she replied when asked what Shulman, whom she wed in 2012, does to support her.

“He supports me completely,” she continued, noting that he has shown up for her more than ever in the last year, while she has been busy shooting and then promoting the hotly anticipated “Devil Wears Prada” sequel with Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt.

“This year in particular was unusual,” she went on. “He and I both know that it’s probably never going to happen like this again. And the way he stepped up, I mean, in every possible way, he’s the most extraordinary person I’ve ever met.”

The actress, whose highly anticipated film “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” hit theaters May 1, noted that she is “so lucky,” adding that this year truly showed her how important his support was to her.

“I’m so lucky that he’s my partner that I spend my life with. If I didn’t know that before this past year, I think I really know it now because with absolutely everything he’s just, he’s on it. He holds it down. I hope that doesn’t sound like I’m bragging, but he’s a dream partner to me,” she explained.

“It’s one thing to have dreams. It’s another thing to have somebody who helps you achieve them. I absolutely would not be able to have achieved what I’ve done without my husband.”

When she’s not busy shooting her latest project, Hathaway escapes from the bright lights of Hollywood at the family’s stunning Ojai, CA, home, which she and Shulman purchased for $3.6 million in 2014, two years after their wedding.

According to Architectural Digest, the property has a rich Hollywood history, having previously been owned by designer Yves Saint Laurent and, later, director Wes Anderson.

The couple, who spent several years renovating the property after purchasing it, told the outlet that it was love at first sight when they first viewed the home—despite realizing that the dwelling needed several updates.

“It was the ideal combination of romance and great design,” Hathaway said. “Our initial instinct was that this was going to be a very important place in our lives. I could really see raising a family here.”

According to a previous listing, the home featured four bedrooms and four bathrooms, and offered just over 3,400 square feet of living space when the couple bought it, however records show that they also purchased a second plot of land next to the dwelling, which would have allowed for plenty of expansion.

In the years since they bought the home, Hathaway’s career has continued to go from strength to strength and she now has a very varied portfolio of on-screen projects under her belt.

Despite being busy running on and off set, Hathaway revealed to People she still takes time to do the things she loves.

“I still get the paper delivered every day, and I love sitting down with it. And I’d cuddle with our puppy—we just got a puppy. And I’d probably take time to call the people I love because I’m always zipping from one thing to another,” she revealed.

“I’d love to have breakfast with a friend. I’d love to go for a walk, maybe do a little window-shopping, maybe go to a museum. I’m very meandering on my days off.”

And, one of her favorite parts of her days off is getting to spend it with her sons, revealing that being a boy mom has heavily influenced her fashion.

“I’m a tomboy! I love that being a boy mom has really informed my fashion. I have to always be able to go from a serious business meeting to, like, a basketball court. You have to be able to play pickup basketball at any point, in any outfit. So [I tell myself]: When you get dressed in the morning, dress wisely because you 100% are going to have a projectile thrown at you probably by the end of breakfast,” she said.

Speaking about the sequel to the hit movie “The Devil Wears Prada,” Hathaway said reuniting with her co-stars Streep, Blunt, and Stanley Tucci was “just beautiful” and “joyful.”

Further in the interview, she noted that she spent far too long being “hard” on herself at the beginning of her career, adding, “When I started out, I thought I’d be a better artist if I was really hard on myself, and then turning 40, I just kind of found a different gear, and I was no longer interested in living an awkward life. I was just interested in getting to the fun part.”

She added, “I loved making the first. I know I was stressed and anxious and all those things, but it’s one of the most hilarious experiences ever because of the people I was with.”

Despite now being one of Hollywood’s most loved stars, Hathaway confessed that she struggled to find her footing in the industry for “decades.”

“For decades—decades. I think I had the longest unbroken awkward phase in Hollywood. Actually, I think mine extended until my late 30s,” she said.

Hathaway went on to concede that a lot of that was likely due to her “normal awkward phase” as a teen, admitting that she struggled to find a place where she truly felt “comfortable.”

Newlyweds Tom Holland and Zendaya have embarked on their first official press tour as husband and wife, heading off on a lengthy international trip to promote their latest project, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” just days after the actor finally confirmed that the couple is married.

Ahead of the July 29 release of the latest Marvel movie, British actor Holland, 30, sat down with Esquire for a wide-ranging interview, during which he was asked about the rumors that he and Zendaya, 29, had secretly tied the knot.

The publication questioned the actor about a series of fake AI-generated wedding photos that had done the rounds on social media, asking whether they had caused any awkward interactions with family members who thought they might have missed out on his big day.

“No, because they were all there,” he responded, confirming that a wedding had, in fact, taken place.

The brief reply put an end to months of speculation about the status of the couple’s relationship—after Zendaya’s longtime stylist, Law Roach, claimed at the SAG Actor Awards in March that his client had already wed her partner.

“The wedding has already happened—you missed it!” Roach quipped to an Access Hollywood reporter, who responded: “Is that true?”

“It’s very true!” the stylist retorted.

While Holland refused to give any additional details about the couple’s wedding, he was happy to wax lyrical about his relationship with his co-star, telling Esquire that Zendaya is his “bedrock” and his “best friend.”

“Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time,” he said. “We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it’s like to live this life, and I think that is such a luxury, because I just don’t understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else.

“So, for me, I found my person. She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I have ever been when I’m with her, but I have also never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period.”

No doubt that connection will come in very handy as the duo continues to travel across the world promoting the latest installment in the “Spider-Man” franchise, which they have co-starred in since 2017, when “Spider-Man: Homecoming” was released.

The couple is currently traveling across Europe, where they have made appearances in Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy—but when their press tour comes to an end, they will have their pick of impressive properties in which to settle down.

While Zendaya was born and raised in California, where she has primarily been based for much of her career, and where she started her own property portfolio at the tender age of 20, Holland is British and bought his first abode near his childhood home in 2018.

What remains unclear is whether the couple will choose to set up home as husband and wife in the U.S. or the U.K. One thing is certain, however: They have a jaw-dropping array of dwellings to pick from.

The couple took their long-term relationship to the next level by getting engaged in January 2025—with reports emerging that the actor popped the question to his partner in an at-home proposal over the holidays.

Speculation that Holland and Zendaya were engaged first arose when the latter was seen sporting a very large diamond ring on her wedding finger while strutting her stuff on the red carpet at the 2025 Golden Globes.

Fans were quick to point out the very significant new bling, questioning whether it was indeed a sign that Holland had proposed.

TMZ then reported that sources close to the couple revealed the Marvel star got down on one knee to ask Zendaya for her hand in marriage during a “very intimate” proposal that took place inside one of her family homes over the holidays.

The insiders told the outlet that the couple was alone when the proposal took place, describing the moment as “very romantic.”

As for the ring, Holland is understood to have popped the question with a bauble from popular designer Jessica McCormack, with People noting that Zendaya’s new bling looks identical to the brand’s 5.02-carat East-West Cushion Diamond Button Back Ring design.

Although the source did not reveal exactly which home the proposal took place in, it’s likely the same residence in which the duo spent the festive season together—with Holland saying in December that he would be celebrating Christmas in the U.S. with his partner and her family, rather than in his native U.K.

“I’m going to be in America this year,” he said during an interview on the “Dish” podcast. “I’ll be with my girlfriend’s family, which is fun.”

However, the Marvel star kept coy about where exactly he and Zendaya would be staying with her relatives: “Where we’ll be is a secret.”

Zendaya has several homes in her property portfolio in which the pair could have stayed—having begun building out her real estate investments in 2016.

Meanwhile, Holland snapped up his own stunning property in West London in 2018, paying around $3.2 million for the six-bedroom abode.

Now, Holland and his wife have just one more query to answer: Where will they put down their roots as husband and wife? Her homes in the U.S. or his newly renovated mansion in the U.K.?

Inside Zendaya’s first home in California

The musician and fashion designer picked up her first property for $1.4 million, a five-bedroom, five-bathroom Oakland, CA, mansion that is described as a “remodeled Mediterranean-style” residence complete with a curved entryway, which the star showed off to her 180 million Instagram followers.

On Christmas Eve 2016, she posted, “My first Christmas in my own home. I always wanted the big tree (it’s huge, honestly what the hell was I thinking), and spiral staircase just never thought I’d have one of my own at 20 …

“I’m so grateful and appreciative for everything I have cause none of it was given, none of it started like this … I’m just an Oakland girl, a daughter of two incredible teachers, with an amazing family who worked her ass off and got a lil lucky. Everyone have a beautiful holiday, from my home to yours.”

According to Architectural Digest, the 4,155-square-foot home has a chef’s kitchen, a primary suite, and a pool and spa in the backyard.

Expanding her real estate portfolio

In 2019, Zendaya expanded her real estate empire to a spread in Encino, CA, paying a reported $3.97 million for the posh property. The home sits on over 3 acres and includes hiking trails, a guesthouse, and a pool.

The home itself features six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, an eat-in kitchen, and multiple fireplaces.

The primary suite has access to a private balcony, a built-in tub, and a separate shower.

The place has served at some point as an investment property. According to reports, she offered the property for rent for $12,900 a month in 2019.

Zendaya snaps up an East Coast abode

In 2021, the star staked out an East Coast perch, picking up a Brooklyn waterfront condo in the stunning Quay building, the New York Post reported. She is said to have paid $4.9 million for the three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom aerie in the new building.

An attractive amenity is the private entrance with an elevator that opens directly into her apartment. The swanky space features Manhattan skyline and New York Harbor views from every room.

Other highlights include an open, corner living and dining room, walls of windows, a chef’s kitchen, and a main bedroom with a formal dressing area and an en suite bathroom with a soaking tub.

Residents of the 30-floor tower enjoy perks like a rooftop terrace with panoramic views, a pet wash, and a fitness center.

Holland’s London dwelling

The “Spider-Man” star is understood to have snapped up his primary residence in Kingston upon Thames, not far from where he grew up, in 2018—before launching into a yearslong renovation in 2020.

Many believed that his decision to overhaul the house was a sign that he was planning to use the residence as a base for himself and his partner. However, they have yet to confirm whether that is the case.

Either way, the work on the home—which is said to have been completed in 2023—will no doubt have ensured a very comfortable setting for the pair to enjoy whenever they travel to the U.K. together.

Making moves

The couple’s decision to spend the festive season together with her family marked an indication that their relationship was growing more serious.

Holland and Zendaya first met when they were cast alongside each other in “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” and rumors soon began to surface that their on-screen romance may have turned into a real-life love. They didn’t go public with their relationship until 2021.

The “Spider-Man” movie marked Zendaya’s film debut. However, she soon went on to cement herself as one of Hollywood’s most talented stars with her role in the HBO teen drama series “Euphoria,” for which she won two Emmy awards.

She and Holland have been caught in each other’s web ever since their on-screen appearance together. In addition to being in a real-life romance, the two also co-starred in “Spider-Man: Far From Home” and their latest project, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”

In addition to their own international properties, Holland and Zendaya also spent some significant time in Boston, where they stayed while Zendaya filmed the movie “The Drama” with Robert Pattinson.

And it appears he was happy to fall into the role of stay-at-home partner during that time, admitting during an interview with Dish that he spent much of his time in the Massachusetts city attempting to cook nonmeat dishes for his beloved, who follows a plant-based diet.

“I’m starting to venture into a lot of vegetarian cooking,” he said. “My girlfriend’s vegetarian. So, I’ve been in Boston these past few weeks and she’s been working, so I’ve been doing a lot of the dinners, and they haven’t been great.”

“Keeping Up With the Kardashians” producer Jeff Jenkins is preparing to part ways with his longtime Los Angeles mansion—having brought the “Zen-inspired” retreat to the market for $1.78 million nearly two decades after he bought it.

Jenkins, whose producing credits also include “The Simple Life,” “Total Divas,” “Total Bellas,” “Bling Empire,” and “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” purchased the Hollywood Hills hideaway for $940,000 in 2007, according to records, just a few months before the Kardashian family‘s hit series premiered.

Tucked inside one of the area’s most discreet celebrity enclaves, the three-bedroom, three-bathroom residence offers a rare combination of privacy, tranquility, and proximity to some of the entertainment industry’s biggest names.

However, Jenkins explained to Realtor.com® that he is ready to leave behind that peace and quiet so that he can pursue his lifelong dream of living on the ocean—although he admitted that leaving the home will be incredibly bittersweet.

“The only reason I’m moving is because I’ve always wanted the chapter of living on the ocean in Southern California,” he explained. “Like Madonna, I grew up in Michigan in the snow. So, to wake up and hear the waves crashing and step outside onto the sand is a dream come true.”

However, he insisted that he is sad to leave behind the property, noting that he loves the dwelling for its prime location, which has given him the opportunity to enjoy serenity as well as proximity to all that Los Angeles has to offer.

California philanthropist Glorya Kaufman‘s longtime Beverly Hills estate has been brought to the market for $25 million—less than a year after the famed patron of the arts died at the age of 95.

Proceeds from the sale of the property, which Kaufman named Château de Liberté or “house of freedom,” will be donated to her eponymous Glorya Kaufman Foundation, which is dedicated to the support of performing arts programs.

Kaufman, who was raised in Detroit, had lived in the sprawling estate for more than a decade when she died—having purchased the property for $18.2 million in 2012, when she renamed the dwelling to better reflect the “independence and intention that defined her second chapter” after the death of her husband, homebuilder Donald Bruce Kaufman, according to a press release shared with Realtor.com®.

The Beverly Hills estate remains a testament to Kaufman’s incredible life—one that was defined by a deep respect for the arts and a love of socializing.

​To that end, the single-story Tuscan-style villa was designed for both an intimate, romantic lifestyle and epic entertainment. The dwelling features a grand living room with towering ceilings accompanied by striking skylights, a bar, and elegantly oversized French doors that open into a resort-level outdoors.

But Château de Liberté is not just appealing to buyers because of its elegant construction and rich history, but also because Beverly Hills, as an independent city, is exempt from Los Angeles’ Measure ULA transfer tax, otherwise known as the “mansion tax.”

The tax applies to all properties sold in Los Angeles for more than $5.3 million—but not to those located in Beverly Hills.

The policy adds a 4% tax on the total transaction for property sales of $5.3 million to $10.6 million and a 5.5% rate for sales above $10.6 million. That tax is on top of a 0.45% tax Los Angeles already levied on all real estate deals.

“Beverly Hills continues to command the attention of the world’s most sophisticated buyers,” Rosten noted.

“When they compare Beverly Hills to London, Monaco, or Manhattan, they quickly realize this is the rare world-class market where prestige and value still coexist, offering a true private estate experience with land, scale, and lifestyle that those markets simply cannot match.”

Before purchasing Château de Liberté for $18.2 million in 2012, Kaufman had been living in nearby Mandeville Canyon, where she and her husband owned a sprawling ranch for many years. However, after his death, she made the decision to pursue a new life in Beverly Hills.

Kaufman sold the couple’s 48-acre ranch at auction for $14.6 million in 2014, two years after she bought Château de Liberté, having dedicated her life to philanthropic endeavors, particularly those related to the arts, a cause that she’d had a passion for since early childhood.

Raised in Detroit by her father, Samuel Pinkis, a production manager of Automotive News, and her mother, Eva, who was a leader in the local Jewish community, Kaufman fell in love with dance before she could even walk—and would regularly frequent the city’s local jazz clubs in her teenage years.

In the early 1950s, she met her husband, who co-founded Kaufman & Broad, now commonly referred to as KB Home. It was the first homebuilding company to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

​She contributed to his success by selling her car and jewelry to help him purchase building lots. In 1960, they moved to Phoenix to further grow Donald’s business before relocating to Huntington Harbor, CA, in 1963, and then to Beverly Hills in 1966.

​In 1969, she and her husband purchased the ranch in Mandeville Canyon they called “Amber Hill.”

Kaufman went on to revolutionize the American arts philanthropy scene for more than four decades of her life, starting with raising money to honor her late husband and build the Donald Bruce Kaufman Brentwood Library, now one of the most popular libraries in Los Angeles.

​In the arts, she donated $25 million to the University of Southern California to fund the creation of the Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, the largest donation in the school’s history.   

She also gave $20 million to the Music Center, which launched the Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance series that featured both Alvin Ailey and Juilliard. Additionally, she donated to UCLA, the Juilliard School, Inner-City Arts, The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Venice Family Clinic, and the Geffen Playhouse.

Kaufman was also named as an honorary doctor of humane letters by USC, Fordham University, and Juilliard, and sat on the USC Board of Trustees.

In 2008, she founded the Glorya Kaufman Foundation, where the estate proceeds will be donated to continue to support the arts, and more recently opened the Glorya Kaufman Performing Arts Center at Vista Del Mar in 2023.

Most people can’t imagine having to drive five hours to and from the nearest grocery store—yet that is exactly what Sean and Jessica Hughes have to do twice a month to continue living their dream life in an off-grid dome home in Tennessee.

For the past six years, Sean, 44, and Jessica, 40, have endured the lengthy shopping trips because they are one of the only drawbacks to an otherwise idyllic life, one that the couple never believed they would achieve after finding themselves broke and homeless while living in Los Angeles.

It took grit, determination, and some inspiration from YouTube for the couple to achieve their goal, and today, they say they couldn’t be happier, even if their life on a 20-acre plot of dense forest land isn’t what everyone might envision as the perfect setup.

​”We’ve learned how to be happy with what we have instead of what everybody wants,” Sean says.

​“We just want it to be our personal retreat. We want to be able to be lost here, be in our creative space, and enjoy that; that’s the ultimate goal,” Jessica adds. “Everybody’s off-grid life is a different story. … Ours isn’t to be survivalists.”

​Life before moving off-grid

​Long before they moved off-grid, the Hugheses had moved from Western Pennsylvania to Los Angeles with big dreams. But life in the City of Angels turned out to be very different from what they had imagined.  

​Sean, who was working “basically 20 out of the 24 hours” in a day, made just over $100,000 a year. But even with that salary, the couple were only just making ends meet.

​“We were working so much just to maintain a bare minimum that we were forgetting to live life,” Sean says. “We weren’t actually living life; we were barely getting by.”

The two ended up losing everything—becoming homeless on the streets of California for just over a year until they were able to purchase an RV. They escaped to the desert, and after some time, inspired by YouTube creators Off Grid w/ Jake & Nicolle, Tyler and Todd, and Eamon & Bec, they decided to pursue a life that was actually within their grasp.

​“Our electrics are not going to get shut off, our water is not going to get shut off, and we were going to try and live this life that we saw on YouTube that other creators were living,” Sean recalls of their vision.

​In April 2021, the Hugheses bought a plot of land for about $1,000 through an owner-financed land company. Then they set about building a home base for themselves on the parcel, determined for it to be a labor of love that they could be proud of.

​“We didn’t want to just move on to the property and say everything’s built for us,” Sean says. “We wanted to kind of fumble our way through it and learn as we go, so that we could do this for the long run.”

A milestone move

​Interestingly, the dome home was never meant to be the Hugheses’ final dwelling, but rather a stopgap that would shelter them while they got back on their feet.

In fact, they had initially intended to continue living in their RV, parking it on their land, until they were able to build something more concrete. Then, disaster struck when the vehicle they were residing in began to leak, resulting in a hefty amount of mold—forcing the couple out of the camper and into a 10-by-20 tool shed.

Stuck in the cramped structure with their two dogs and all of their possessions, Sean and Jessica began looking for a housing alternative that could be constructed quickly for as little money as possible. It was then that they learned about the geodesic dome home.

​“It seemed like a cheaper, quicker option to put up with a lot of space,” Sean explains. It was “a solid structure that would handle some of the winds and weather that we have around here.”

​The materials for the dome home, shipping fees, and an additional deck they decided to include cost around $10,000. They paid an additional $20,000 to install the various systems they needed, including a water hookup and a wood stove.

This brought the total cost of their dome home to $30,000—less than a tenth of the current median listing price for a home in the U.S., which sits at $429,500, Realtor.com® data shows.

And, as luck would have it, the duo ended up falling in love with dome home living and, six years later, are still making improvements to the structure, from upgrading their solar power to increasing the voltage of their Amazon box so they can power more appliances.

​“We’re still trying to get to the spot where we’re completely comfortable, and we can just go on about our lives, because that’s the goal,” Sean says. “It’s to live a minimalist, as low-paying bill lifestyle as we can without sacrificing.”

A minimalist lifestyle

​Since living off-grid, the couple have maintained a minimalist lifestyle, one that not only enables them to keep costs down, but also has little impact on the environment.

However, despite now feeling in control of the life they have built, they have made mistakes along the way.

​One of the biggest was the placement of their off-grid geodesic dome. Putting their home in direct sunlight resulted in some serious temperature control issues.

​In the summer, the temperature inside the dome home can reach 115 degrees Fahrenheit. In the winter, the temperature can drop to 20 degrees. Though cost-effective, the wood stove can only heat the space so much, and many evenings are chilly.

Then there are the challenges of living off-grid—which, for Jessica, started with learning to share their space with abundant wildlife.

​“Bug pressure was a very real thing to me that I wasn’t expecting,” Jessica reveals. “Learning to live alongside insects and skinks and lizards and bees and things that want to come in like snakes was a huge transition for me.”

​The first year living off-grid, Jessica thought she wasn’t going to be able to survive it. However, after six years, she’s “learned to live harmoniously with it.”

​Another off-grid essential that the couple had to figure out was clean water.

They had purposely bought land with a creek on it, and in addition to collecting rainwater, they installed a faucet from which they could drink. But the transition still came with some complications. For example, doing laundry requires a tough slog to the creek, no matter the weather.

​“Everybody sees this life as freedom, which it is in so many ways. But you are trading conveniences for the same kind of conveniences that require work that goes into them instead of money,” Sean says. “It’s labor input that’s now going into your lifestyle.”

But there are so many elements about their lifestyle that they love, including the increasingly sustainable way in which they are able to live, particularly when it comes to food. They grow their own fruit and vegetables and take twice-monthly trips to the grocery store or hardware store.

​They are learning how to preserve food, as well as barter and trade with their off-grid neighbors.

“We want to get as close to self-sufficiency as we can,” Sean says. “We didn’t actually realize how much hard work that is.”

​Becoming influencers

​While living off-grid and working hard to maintain their lifestyle, the couple have launched careers as content creators.

Inspired by the YouTubers they watched when first transitioning toward an off-grid life and with Sean’s passion for video production and editing, the Hugheses imagined a way they could earn money without having to leave their land.

​However, after starting a TikTok account and a YouTube channel, they realized that the dream they’d been sold looked a whole lot different.

​“We kind of got sold the dream by some of these bigger influencers who made it look magical and beautiful, but what we realized is we were leaving one situation that was difficult to survive in everyday life to one where you just trade them for other hardships,” Sean says.

The couple decided to share the unvarnished truth of off-grid living.

​“I gained such a following because we’re very honest and open about our mistakes, the bug pressures, [and] what you deal with in daily life. It’s not all rainbows and unicorns in this lifestyle,” Sean explains.  

​With their TikTok account, @offgridsean, gaining more than 333,000 followers, it seems that the couple’s honest approach is working.  

​Outside of TikTok and YouTube, the couple have corporate sponsorships and produce promotional videos for their land company to generate income. Occasionally, they film weddings and other events in their community for pay.

​Additionally, companies will occasionally fly Sean to Maine and Florida to help them with their own social media.

​An off-grid future

​The Hugheses enjoy spending their time together working on projects, gardening, filming content, and preparing a home-cooked meal every evening.

​“We just kind of do everything together. It’s a life spent together,” Jessica says. “We do it together, or divide and conquer as needed.”

​Looking ahead, the Hugheses are pivoting from their original plan to build an extravagant home to retaining their minimalist lifestyle. They now plan to build a small 1,000-square-foot cabin as their permanent home with their two dogs.

They’d also like to build a greenhouse and upgrade their solar power.

While Sean would love an “off-grid hot tub and sauna overlooking the mountain,” he understands that it isn’t a necessity for him to “live a comfortable life.” Though they do plan to add more amenities over time.

In today’s modern world, where brand-new megamansions appear to replace historic homes on a daily basis, it’s rare that a true legacy estate makes its debut on the market, particularly in California, home of some of the country’s most glittering contemporary abodes.

Yet that is exactly what has emerged in the Golden State’s Sierra Foothills, where a spectacular 10-acre ranch has been listed for the first time since it was built, having been lovingly tended to by the same family for nearly four decades.

The farmhouse estate, which is known as Bella Tenuta, made its first appearance on the market on June 6, when it was listed by Noelle Borden of Borden Signature Properties with an asking price of $3.9 million.

Described in its listing as one of the “most coveted family estates” in Penryn, a quaint, sleepy suburb of Sacramento, there is far more to the “remarkable property” than first meets the eye, not least the many extraordinary stories it has been witness to.

“This remarkable home has held many rare and beautiful chapters and is ready for the next owner to write their own,” the listing notes.

Clearly designed for multigenerational living, the compound features multiple structures across its 10 acres.

Beyond the more than 4,000-square-foot main house, the property also includes an updated guesthouse, log cabin, and bunkhouse, a collection of structures that reads less like a single home and more like a multigenerational ranch.

The main residence holds six bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, including a main-floor primary suite with a sitting area and walk-in closet, plus a separate in-law suite for extended family.

Cathedral ceilings, a formal entry, and a pair of stone fireplaces in the living and family rooms lend the interior an old-world warmth, while a granite-topped island and breakfast nook anchor the kitchen’s more casual side. Wraparound porches and a covered deck open onto panoramic views of the surrounding pastures and mature trees.

The home was built in 1990 and has steadily been updated in the years since. The kitchen is one of the most recently upgraded spaces in the dwelling, having been renovated within the last decade, the bathrooms more recently still.

Throughout that evolution, the estate has remained in the care of the same family—with property records revealing that the land has passed between generations through deed transfers dating back to 2004.

But the real draw is everything happening outside.

The grounds are set up as a fully operational equestrian compound: a barn wired for electricity and plumbed for water, up to six stalls, a tack room, a round pen, and irrigated, cross-fenced pastures ready for grazing.

The location doesn’t hurt either. Penryn sits along the Interstate 80 corridor between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe, surrounded by the vineyards and rolling hills of California’s Sierra Foothills.

While Bella Tenuta—which means “beautiful estate” in Italian—was only built in 1990, the surrounding area is rich in history that dates back to the Gold Rush era in the mid-1800s.

According to Explore the Sierra Foothills, Penryn was founded during this time, when a Welsh immigrant named Griffith Griffith began mining, not for gold, but for granite, in the area.

“He leased land in 1864 from the Central Pacific Railroad and was quickly producing stone and shipping it out on the railway,” the website states. “He named it after the quarry his father had worked in Wales, the Penrhyn Slate Quarry, dropping the ‘h’ to make it easier for non-Welsh speakers.”

Such was the success of the operation that the town of Penryn was soon established, named for the mining operation that had helped to lure in so many new settlers.

By 1870, “it had become a thriving community, with a hotel, a schoolhouse, a blacksmith, and a half dozen shops and saloons.”

Though the quarry was closed in the mid-1890s, Penryn continued to enjoy booming business courtesy of its rich soil and sunny weather, which helped it to become one of the premier fruit-growing regions in the country, a legacy that it retains to this day.
