Jeremy Piven Offloads Hollywood Hills Home for Modest Profit

“Entourage” star Jeremy Piven has found a buyer for his Mount Olympus mansion more than a year after putting it up for sale.

Piven sold his home at 2008 Hercules Drive for nearly $6.9 million, Realtor.com reported. The Emmy Award winner purchased the gated home in 2017 for $6.8 million and listed it in January 2025 for a nearly $9.5 million asking price after failing to secure interest as a $35,000-per-month rental a few months earlier.

The modern 6,200-square-foot manse was taken off the market and relisted with a lower price several times since first coming up for sale early last year. By last November, the asking price had fallen to nearly $7.5 million, according to Realtor.com.

While Piven will emerge from the sale with a roughly $500,000 profit, he will be subject to Measure ULA, Los Angeles’ transfer tax that applies to all homes sold for more than $5.3 million. Under the city law, Piven will have to pay a 4 percent levy on the sale price of the home, equating $274,000.

The four-bedroom, five-bathroom property was built in 1980 and sits on a roughly quarter-acre flat lot. The home boasts several lounge areas, a chef’s kitchen, a fitness center, an infinity-edge pool, a fire pit and a primary suite with a floating fireplace and private balcony. Under his ownership, Piven transformed one room into a music lover’s den with a drum kit and photos of music icons.

Measure ULA is set to undergo some changes in the coming weeks. Currently, sales for $5.3 million or more trigger a 4 percent tax and transactions of $10.6 million and above require a 5.5 percent tax payment. After June 30, the thresholds will change to $5.4 million and $10.9 million, respectively. As Los Angeles city officials have been considering amendments to ULA — such as Council Member Nithya Raman’s proposal to provide a 15-year carveout for newly built commercial projects — there’s been little movement.— Chris Malone Méndez
